Hi CrystalFairy, I do take a lot of inspiration from your works! Keep on sharing with us. Pleased to hear that, Dreadaye! I will have to post the finished version of that last one. Nothing much has changed, but I'm real chuffed about the way I signed this one, lol. On the rocks I painted "Angel was here" I had a good giggle as I did that. |

Beautiful artworks Crystal, you have an own style... Very recognizable.
I just recently started with my first oil painting, lots to learn. I used the water soluble oil paints, do you use the normal oil paints? |

4Moon,
Thank you! And yes, I do think I have developed my own style :) I use water soluble oil paints. Used the regular ones for a while, but it like chemical warfare indoors. Too unhealthy, especially during winter when you can't open doors and windows. And too much hassle cleaning brushes as well. I started a new canvas 2 weeks ago. Had a lot of chores to do recently, hoping to get working on it again soon! |

You are welcome Crystal.
Thought so too, that is why I picked the water soluble ones. So far love woking with them and exploring how it works best for me. I post an upate from my oilpainting in my work in progress post. Not finished yet. I like the trees and depth... going great. |

although i do not understand much about art, if you have put several paintings by different painters together, i would find out which one is yours.

Got some more work done on my painting :) |

I have finally finished my Mt Shasta painting the other day :)
Only thing that needed some work still, was the fog and the rest needed to dry in order for me to work on that. Now it's done :) |

Hi again Crystal
i admire people who have the talent in painting, singing, creating arts. that is "a gift of God" in my opinion.. i before had a chance to look at ur paintings in this thread. i think, there is a significant style change in between the first page paintings and this last one. the others were "with borders" it was like "whatever i see, here it is on the painting" this last one is more "mystic" to me like it leaves some things to your imagination, and i like it. anyway i am not any close to understanding about paintings. that was just what i felt . they are all beautiful paintings.. |

I think you got a keen eye!
Indeed my work has changed in the sense that I am less insecure about doing my own thing. I was always a bit afraid to let go and just let it flow. The last year, maybe two, I have grown tremendously as a painter. I'm now painting things I'd never dared do before. Now I just do them. I usually am at my best when I get fed up with what I'm trying to paint and think "Sod it! I don't care about it anymore!" Then I suddenly stop holding back and just do it. And then I always create something good. I do, however, always remain slightly insecure, like almost every artist, especially when I have to put a price tag on my work So yes, my work has changed in that sense. I can see that myself too. Looking back I find myself thinking "Mmmm... I could've done a slightly better job" |

"Indeed my work has changed in the sense that I am less insecure about doing my own thing"
u feel less insecure because you know that you are good at it. you are confident about what you are doing. you know you are - day by day - doing better of it. Your feeling "secure" about it (i think) brings your real soul in to it. whilst you are confident that you are doing better and better, you are more likely to put your real soul into them, with no limitations. "I do, however, always remain slightly insecure, like almost every artist, especially when I have to put a price tag on my work" it must be hard for you to sell some of them ? (i have observed that u are a very smart lady also with so much soul) Some may be a memory/summary of a period of a time/event you have been through.. are there/is there any that u would not sell if they gave you the millions? |
