Topic: Looking Your Best | |

Radiance is gorgeous! I think males or females look best when they are confident, happy and comfortable. Absolutely - a smile says it all. But you can take a person with many unattractive features and if they are confident - you'll always look again. this is the perect answer I dont find that its about race or gender on the outside, so much as it is what a persons emits from the inside I dont necessarily get impressed with people TRYING to impress everywhere they go,, really,, if you are just grocery shopping or working out or running to walmart, whats the point of glamming up? if you are on a professional job, or going on a date, or to a live show,,, yeah,, doll it up a bit,,, there is a time and place for everything, Im more impressed with people that are confident enough to adjust to the situation and not feel obligated to always be physically perfect ,,, |

I have been told, since I was a kid, that I look like an absent-minded professor. Here is a news flash- I am an absent-minded professor! Most of the women in my life have bought my clothes and would even pick them out for me and tell me to go shave, comb my hair, etc. So do clean-up well. Appearance is also a good reflection of personality, however there are a lot of people who look outwardly, but inwardly stink.

To address your initial statement, it only takes 3 things: 1) A smile 2) A good imagination 3) Acceptance of yourself In other words, outward beauty is only skin-deep and in time, no matter who you are, physical beauty eventually wears off. So, keep on smiling, imagine you are beautiful, and accept yourself for who/how you are. No matter how old you are, you can still put some effort into your appearance. I may not be young and beautiful anymore, but I can still be dignified. I can still maintain my weight. I can still get a quality haircut. I can still shine my shoes. Maybe for some; it just isn't that important to dress up, maintain weight, or put effort into their appearance. I think if they are happy; what does it matter? |

What it takes to look your best....is to actually care to groom. The synopsis of good looking women is Utopian...but far from accurate. Some people are just f 'n ugly. Every breed has lazy apathetic slobs. Male and female...to pretend that a chick is beautiful just because she is white, black, Asian...don't fly with me. Even the pretty ones can be complete b!*itches. Personally....I like to be well dressed. I like making all the other dudes look like crap. If a little extra attention to detail means I can compete with the guys in jeans and t -shirt...GREAT! A woman who thinks she is beautiful just because she exists is badly mistaken ...you ain't doing them any flavors by saying.....Asians are this and blacks are that...they ain't. Thank you. You can't define beauty by race. Everyone has potential. |

Folks, my OP is in part a jab at the cosmetics industry. It is the only industry that I can think of that survives by telling women that they aren't beautiful just the way they are. I wanted to tell certain women that they don't need cosmetics in order to be beautiful.

I have been told countless time that I wasn't good looking enough by men. The cosmetic industry just cashes in on the insecurity that was caused by guys telling us this. |

The men light the fire and the cosmetic industry just throws the fuel on the fire. Of course; that is just my experience with guys here. |

I think there is way too much emphasis on looks these days....
It is exhausting looking your best.... I no longer obsess over it....what you see is what you get now....I'm not expected to dress up for work and I don't...jeans, t-shirt sweatshirt, sneakers or boots...that's about it |

Some people are over the top. Depending on your social environment it's natural for people to be out and about in sweats and hoodies, or board shorts and flip flops. Looking over the top can be looking like you're trying too hard, however if you are at a funeral or "in" a wedding or something looking your best is expected.
