i've never had that, i shall google a recipe, chilly here too, ptooooies oregon!! We were up in Canada one Christmas and my bro-in-law, the UNsharpest knife in the drawer says, I am wanting some hamburger soup. My eyebrows raised as I tried to picture it. He took hamburger, cooked it, added onions and garlic (whole head) added water and diced potatoes and carrots and set it to simmer in a crock pot. Honest, best soup I ever had, go figure. I just cooked it stove top, Eric loved it as did the dog :-) The flavor is just..stupendous. Outta hamburger. My estimation of my bro-in-law did not go down that day. |

anything that animals and animal's peoples can eat

No, just as listed...try it that way first,
you will be very surprised :-) Oh and salt and pepper to taste :-) |

Maryland, ptoooooooies! I made hamburger soup today... mmmmm on a cold winter day :-) Sounds yummy. We are having some spaghetti with homemade bread. I found a recipe for no-knead bread. Ever try it? |
Noooooo, sounds delish, but homemade
bread trumps everything :-) I will be wanting that..yeast rising and everything? |
Yep. I know you don't have sound, but here's an example on YouTube. It's 3 cups flour, 1/4 tsp. yeast, 1 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 1/2 c. Water. You leave it to rise 12 hours. I'll let you know how it turns out.

My grandmother, every time we would visit
when I was little. she would be making fried bread, freshly raised, OMG you would tremble in anticipation, add butter and honey and be in heaven. I have never tried to duplicate that, if even I could. Yours sounds easy, I know she used lard...ugh. |

I have never tried to duplicate that, if even I could. Yours sounds easy, I know she used lard...ugh. Bread baking, among many other crafts, is a lost art. I told one of my good friends recently that if she didn't learn her mother's technique for making Pupusas (they are from El Salvador) the knowledge would be lost forever in her family. My mother wasn't even around, let alone able to teach me any homemaking skills. So, here I am at 45, teaching myself. At least I'm having fun learning. |
