I just came from the supermarket and I´m really pissed off!!! Maybe I should have posted this on the "What pisssed you off?" thread but I want to know if this just happens in my town and if you all hate something about your town.

What happened today is what happens on a daily basis: I went to the supermarket, had to queue in order to pay for the things. As I was waiting the people who were behind me kept pushing their shopping trolley against me, their brat daughter kept coming and going without saying "excuse me" , so I was already fed up and I said to her : People say "excuse me" to what she responded "I can´t say those words" to which I responded "I can see that..". I thought there were 2 adolescents and her behind me but I turned around and I saw to adults and her, so I said "what a lack of education, it´s so sad..." . The mother (typical old lady who tries to stay an enetrnal adolsecent for life) decided to stand close behind me as I was paying for my stuff near the cash register

This kind of behaviour is more and more common around here, teens are the most irrespectful but what really bothers me the most is that adults try to act as if they were teens too, and behave the same way as their children do.
Lack of respect and consideration is everywhere, including schools, which extremely irritates me. Sometimes I just dream about the idea of one day taking the courage, (and the money) to go and live in a really small village with no one around me.

I don´t know if it´s just me, or maybe I´m way too vulnerable and way to respectful and well-educated but I sometimes feel as punching someone on their face!!!

so, that´s what I hate about this town.(as you have read I hate people in general.... hahahah.just kidding. I hate irrespectful people, tha´s all)

How about you??? What do hate or just can´t stand about your city???

A lot of the is pretty typical behavior everywhere these days. Respect and courtesy are slowly vanishing in a lot of places. When I was a kid it used to be people saying excuse me, holding the door for you, being polite and making sure their children followed the same manners.... but over the years it has really changed. Now people glare at you, act as if they really do not want to speak to you, and let their kids go berserk everywhere they go since it seems to give them free time away from them. I work around a lot of people, and although you still see some politeness and courtesy, it is really disturbing how much rudeness and meanness goes right along with it.

As for punching people in the face... I say go for it. Nothing gets you more respect than burying your fist up to the elbow in someones forehead. Of course I'll have to come bail you out of jail afterwards probably, but hey.... you will maybe feel better. flowerforyou

Come to think of it, don't punch anybody... get a punching bag and stand, and beat the crap out of that instead. bigsmile

Queuing delays alone can be big pizz off factors for some people...Taking in out the fellow queuers only adds insult to injury...Don't smack the kid, smack the parents, it's their fault...If you do it that way, your bail will be set much lower and you can probably be "out" in a couple of hours....

Now smile for the camera and wipe the ink off your fingers!laugh

Through my child, I have met so many teenagers whose parents supply them with marijuana, alcohol and meth. I am talking as young as 12. That makes me furious. When you meet the parents, they think they are 'cool' and have such an 'open mind.' Grrrr.

Lol can't say that I have ran into rudeness very often only had one that got me to my boiling point. And I was standing in line at a thrift store when some girls in their 20 cut in front of me.

First one did I let it go, the second one comes along and cut in with that one..I was all good till the third one came along with a big buggy over loaded and smarted off to me.Said they were already in line. I'm one that will voice my opinion and when I talk you can hear me loud and clear..Needless to say when she smarted off to me. I looked at her told her that not only had she cut in front of me but as well as her two friends did. Told them that what I was going to do was get right behind the man I had been behind prior for more then 15 minutes, so they better get out of my way..That as far as I was concerned they could go to the back of the line which was at least 20 behind me...I took my buggy and went right past them and left them with their mouths gaped open. Funny for the next 5-6 behind me did the same thing and they had to go farther back.. The man in front of me turned and told me good going. Teach them a lesson.

Honestly though in at least five years or more that is the first time I have ran into someone that was that rude...I actually like my town hell I just love Texas People....

Once I was in a strange city, took a cab there to the motel, and the cabby lost his way. We stopped to ask for directions, although both of us were males.

There was a small group of adults and kids chatting in front of a restaurant, just having come out from finishing a meal, I guess. We asked a woman there.

She started to give us directions, and she was thorough. It was not easy, becasue it was not a gridded city, you know, straight up-and-down and east-west streets.

At one point her eleven-year-old comes over, and says, "mommy, ..." and interrupts her with his loud voice, and he says basically nothing, in so many words.

So then he finishes eventually, goes away, the woman is frazzled, starts again from the beginning.

She gets to the intersection as in her previous story when the kid had interrupted, and kid comes over and interrupts again. We patiently wait out his loud speech. The taxi meter is ticking.

He goes away, the mother starts from the beginning again, and for the third time the kid comes over at the same intersection again. I wanted to gently push him away, sort of guiding him, and told him to let his mother finish. But this time I was focussing my eyes on the mother, and as I reached for the kid, it happened that I put my entire hand over his face and pushed him away that way.

The kid got upset, but first he was stunned, the mother finished her instructions, the kid started to say, "did you just push me away," and I knew I had assaulted him, so I loudly thanked the mother, said loudly (so my voice would drown out the kid's) good night to everyone there.

Hurried my cabby back to his car and we drove off.

The cabby and I laughed all the way to the hotel. I laughed, because I escaped certain death if the cops were called and they had come. I am Canadian, with a Hungarian accent, and I don't think American cops take lightly to my kind. But the crowd in front of the restaurant and the kid were stunned by my outgoing falmbuoyance, and my accent sort of smoothed over their anger, since they know that in my country peole probably burn their kids at the stake and eat them in pieces for days, with katsup, tartar sauce and impunity.

Yes, sounding like a well-meaning and funny savage saved my skin many a time.

Right now where I live people drive like absolute SOBs all the time. I hate it. When I was in Ventura and someone cut me off, I would think "Maybe they are going to the hospital" or "Maybe their baby distracted them". Here it's all jerks all the time. It's very frustrating.

In a heavily Jewishly populated neighbourhood in Toronto, where the richest of Jewish lawyers and doctors live, there is this really high-end supermarket. I went in, did my shopping, and enourmous line-ups were at the checkout. I line up, a young, twenty something young professional guy is in front of me, in the express check out lane, with twenty items. He leaves the line-up momentarily, the line moves, go in front of his full basket.

He comes back and tells me he was before me. I said, you left the line. I said you have twenty items in your basket. At your age I already knew, I said, that twenty is more than the 8 maximum you are supposed to have in this line up.

Now get this. He was young, tall, good looking, and I was old, fat and decrepit. So naturally all these middle-aged Jewish women, dressed to the hill, full of liposuction and facelifts, sided with him. Expensive hairdos, make up just so, brilliant jewellery, designer clothes.

That hurt. Really.

i love my town, small town, friendly people,
hate the touristas in the summer, too many,
can't find a parking spot, and litter.
we have our idiots, azzzholes and more,
but i've never had such good friends
the most awesome views and wildlife ever.
hate the stop light that ain't there?
hate the dirt roads that get me where i'm going,
hate the paper being late, she must have a good
time saturday night,,,,
hate the drive-in baseball games with beer, friends
and 420, with deer in the infield, good dog,
fetch that stray foul ball.
hate only deprives you of achievement, knowledge and power over your own being. i copied this from timothy learys book of "LSD" knowledge,,,, well, just me,,, sorry krupa, my bette looks like your black betty, engine to go, oregon here you come.... a friend,,,

Well if someone is ahead of me and as long as they say they forgot something and running after it. I just tell them okay no big deal to me...I have been there and the favor was returned as long as they are not gone long enough to hold up the line I would even push their buggy up for them.

That one has never bothered me for they were already there. Now if they left and did not say anything and it was their turn in line yeah I would go ahead of them then.

Queuing is lining up. A queue is a line-up.

I never heard of "queuing in" before either. I guess it means butting in into a line-up.

Hey! Thank you all for telling such fun stories!!!

TxsGal good for you!!!! You taught them a lesson!
I really laughed when I read Wux´s story!! LOL, but I think you taught that little brat a lesson too! LOL

Willing2, I´m really sorry if I wrote something incorrectly, AS YOU ALL MAY KNOW I´M NOT A NATIVE SPEAKER AND I ALWAYS TRY TO DO MY BEST AND I WILL ALWAYS BE THANKFUL FOR ANY NICE CORRECTIONS. I wrote "I had to queue(meaning: to line-up), (comma) in order to...." I was taught British English and I think Americans just use "line up"

Teadipper: 99% of the people in this city drive like hell. People riding bikes and morotbikes are the worst, pedestrians always think they are right and those who drive pick up trucks are even worse!!! Everytime I have to drive in this city I end up all stressed!!

Lilot: my city gets bigger and bigger each year, so by now I have no idea how many neighbours or new areas there are.... The thing is it was never well-planned, so the streets are a disaster, and there is no parking space anywhere!
