What is your favorite shape and why?

How do certain shapes make you feel?

I never really thought about this before, so I'm not really sure what shapes I like or how they make me feel. I guess square and rectangle seems to be a pretty common shape though.

A star is my favorite. And the reason is just because.

I used to be really into astronomy until I realized Ohio was one of the cloudiest states, and I got tired of everyone confusing it with astrology.

I like my grandmas art style she would paint lots of things with stars moons suns, planets, etc. She has a country/ Americana style to her art.

Anything that doesn't have sharp angles to it. I like shapes that curve and flow.

I like the shapes of dirigibles.
And owls.
And country fences.

Yes, and as Mythbusters pointed out, it's much easier to drive with round wheels than with square ones. lol

In the front row line of a garden I like the Viola shape, for a whole garden island: I like the shape of a kidney bean. Straight lined gardens might be easier to mow, but I love the flow of those lines bigsmile I think shapes in general that flow like the tendrils of long hair are the most calming to me... go figurelaugh

I guess I like things more structured. I like triangles that point up, like the pyramids, or a rocket.

Hey!! I look EXACTLY like a contry fence. (Canadians, women too, like to sit on the fence. No off-fence meant.)

You just described my father's beautiful, deep-blue eyes, that could burn your soul like a whip, and make women melt on sight.

We buried him a week ago.

My favourite shape has always been the Schwastika, (yes, despite bein a Jew), but man, you convinced me to convert to this one.

I solemnly declare, as of this day, that this is my favourite shape now, and so help me God.

You all are my witnesses to this when the creator asks me to account for my transmutatio idomum.

I've no real favourite shape, just as long as I find it aesthetically pleasing, and those produced by nature can be some of the most stunning of all.. :)

"Die Teil der Urformen" -- a famous German photographer made a book in the early part of the twentieth century. His book had nothing but photos of plants, close-up photos, and the title meant in English, "Details of time-tested (ancient) shapes."

A copy of his book is worth now about $45,000 on eBay (when one comes up.)

Just to say how very right you are, sir, when you said the above. Humans just go gaga over stuff like that.

I, however, am still sticking to my newfangled new favourite shape. No ancient forms for me... preferrably, instead, shapes of about 20 to 89 years of age.

Many thanks Wux and I'll look out for that book on ebay.. :)

Though some forms of nature are purely there to deceive so that their own personal goal is reached as shown in this clip with the wonderful David Attenborough on Orchids.. smile2
