This flesh is only temporary, it is the temple of God. You are not this flesh, Cowboy...claiming that you are not this flesh is to deny who you are and what God created you to be.... the flesh forms what will one day after death be the spirit ..the flesh is part of the test that will determine whether you will be tossed into Heaven as a slave or tossed into The lake Fire to burn It's not denying anything God created. Notice "and man became a living soul". And no this body will not magically turn into a spirit lol. Genesis 2:7 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. no...it stated that Man became a living "creature" .... but anyway.....your flesh is part of you ...to deny this, is to denied yourself.....if your flesh offends thee...pluck it off No, it specifically said a living "soul". Yes my flesh is PART of what makes me, this much is true. But I am not of this flesh. This flesh will one day die, I will live on due to the gracious glory of God. sorry Cowboy...but the bible I looked in "specifically" stated "living creature" ....now how does it feel when jumping from bible to bible is used against you? |

Do what now? Jewish Zombies? What are you talking about?
Zombie - A soulless corpse said to be revived by witchcraft, esp. in certain African and Caribbean religions - a person held to resemble the so-called walking dead Neither one of these fit anything anyone has said, nor are they supported by the scriptures. Who was talking about zombies? ------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm working on the 4th volume of the Abrahamic Trilogy it's called The Undead Testament,it's about undead that God forgot to turn back into normal human form. And Pat Robertson is the evil cleric that tries to stop God from turning them back but Satan is jealous of Pat so him and God make a pact to work together with jesus to kill Pat Robertson with the Sword of Righteousness aka +5 Holy Avenger.See the plot thickens though Pat Robertson is the reincarnation of Hitler and Satan doesn't tell God this secret. Check it out it'll be a great book, look under the irrational thinking section along with the other 3 volumes. |

I'm assuming it was something like the "new international, New King James" or something of a newer translation. Things loose it's true meaning when translated time after time. People and what they "think" was ment, will be altered. |

People and what they "think" was ment, will be altered. cool......now if we used any of the older bible versions as a reference... then the paasage reverts back to "Hate" that you must first "hate" your family and yourself before you can become one of the disciples of Jesus it took me pages and pages to get you back to this one point... also to keep this from happening again, we can agree on a "specific" version of the bible to use as a reference St. Cowboy..since you hold the title of "The Messiah of Mingle2"...you have been granted the authority by those that believe you are delusional of choosing which bible version that will be ... |

Nothing reverts back to hate, there is absolutely nothing of hatred in there. So God making man a living soul is hatred? How can that be? I would love to read your reason of saying it's hatred. I generally go with the KJV, it's an older translation and isn't a translation of a translation of a translation of a translation, ect. And I hold no such title, but it's quite flattering of you Funches. |

And I hold no such title, but it's quite flattering of you Funches. since we both now agree to use "only" "only" "only" the KJV as a bible reference....then BEHOLD my breathen... let it be written ..let it be done but anyway....here is what the passage from the KJV states Luke 14:26 "KJV" If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. the passage doesn't states anything about Jesus commanding anyone to hate....the passage only implies if you already have the hate within you...then you can be one of his disciples 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Keep things in context if you're going to discuss funches lol. Jesus is saying here not to put your father, your mother, your wife, your children, your brothers, or sisters before God. It is dire that one keeps things in context for it being a translation. Languages don't always translate to one another 100%, the "closest" word is the word used. And with keeping the verses in context you will keep in mind the other scriptures Jesus has said. Ephesians 6:2 2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; Mark 12:31 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. --------- There's no contradiction, just misunderstanding of "translations" and taking things out of context of what Jesus has told us as a whole. Takes all the verses to understand what is being said in one. Because with the way you're reading it, only those who were "crucified" could be a disciple of Jesus. Which is not true, he came to save all of mankind. Not just the ones that existed in the culture or at the time Jesus physically walked this Earth. |

What are you talking about? Nobody used any other translation but the KJV right now. But you can not take just one verse out of the rest and know what's it's meaning. Especially with it being a translation and the time frame it was originally written, the way they spoke, the culture, ect. You have to use all the verses to understand one. |

The word "hate" has a very clear meaning. yes the word "hate" does have a very clear meaning. But that does not mean there wasn't a closer word from the original language, just was "close". Hate - to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion Aversion - a strong feeling of dislike, opposition, repugnance, or antipathy (usually followed by to ): a strong aversion to snakes and spiders. And again, with keeping the verse in context, Jesus was saying to put him first before the other's. If you're favorite color is say blue. You then hate all the other colors, you don't "like" them eg., dislike. Or you like them less then blue, thus again you hate the other colors in comparison to blue. |
