This sure sounds pretty similar to a decree that would be coming from the Vatican if bibles were burned.. KABUL, Afghanistan -- The Taliban urged Afghans Thursday to target foreign military bases and kill Westerners in retaliation for burnings of copies of the Quran at NATO's main base in the country as a third day of violent protests began. Thousands of demonstrators gathered across the country, some chanting "Death to America!", Reuters witnesses and officials said. In eastern Kabul, hundreds of youths threw rocks at police, who fired shots into the air to try disperse the crowds. "Our brave people must target the military bases of invader forces, their military convoys and their invader bases," read an emailed Taliban statement released by the insurgency's spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid. It is built upon the dust of hatred and bigotry. Would that those who are Imams among them would write again upon Sharia-as-they-read-it and remove that falseness. They have a lesson to look upon. For when Islam did not (because of politics) remove them from power (so they kill no more mothers)... Allah used the Stranger to do so... Did he not? and yet does the Taliban still wave the bloody sword.

strangest thing is,that the Koran(s) weren't burned maliciously! exactly the whole thing is a tempest in a teapot - they burnt a bunch of old stuff from a detention center - sorry but the Afghan people don;t get to tell us how to run our facilities OR how to clean and ready them nonetheless after this incident, perhaps our forces could allow some reasonable local folk (assuming there must be a few) to have any discared religious materials....as long as it does not in anyway interfere with our processes

If there were an Afghan military base in our country burning bibles, it wouldn't be pretty. The reaction is as it should be. there would not be an afghan military base in our country and if our citizens amassed in the streets with weapons they'd most likely be detained/jailed themselves. might make an interesting movie tho as a fantasy type thing...

F Islam and Mohammud! Perfect example of why it is difficult to bring the Taliban to peace within the tribes of the Pashtun. The tribes of America have also 'taliban'... They just misinterpret a diferent book... the Bible.

If a vastly more powerful invading force occupies your country for years and kills of thousands of your people and then stamps down on your right to free speech for example, how far would you go to get your right to free speech back? or would you simply do nothing and take it? every culture holds something important that might not neccesarily be important to other cultures, but it must be respected just the same, especially if you are occupying the country of said culture Exactly!

yes it is unfortunate. the price of freedom. This is just IMO. ..but they've gone beyond just buying 'Freedom'. No one, and I mean NO ONE has ever held this much dominance over the entire planet as the U.S. does right now. ..and because they are dishing out so much for this 'freedom'.. The debt is rising. They are soon only going to have a few options left. 1. Make more USD. 2. Request (demand) ally $ assistance. 3. ..idk, rob an entire nation of it's wealth, maybe? It seems like the countries who want no part in permitting US Military Bases, we've recently declared war on. Iraq, Afghanistan, and now their pushing Iran. Those first two, we now have bases on. ..it's getting to be a bit ridiculous..

As Bush liked to call it, WMD. ..so, if we, ourselves, don't plan to launch a Nuclear holocaust on the world, and we make it a "priority" to ensure no one else does either.. As Bush liked to call it, WMD. ..so, if we, ourselves, don't plan to launch a Nuclear holocaust on the world, and we make it a "priority" to ensure no one else does either.. Why the **** do we spend 52 Billion a year ON Nuclear Development? o.O I honestly can't come up with an answer for this,maybe it's like insurance for the "just in case" scenario?But as you stated 52 billion is beyond pathetic.

Why the **** do we spend 52 Billion a year ON Nuclear Development? o.O On the development side.. We went from missile silos and b-52s flying around to attack subs carrying hundreds of warheads. Most of the money is spent on delivery systems. Improving them to require fewer of them. It actually saves quite a bit of money in the long run.

The Bible is about is about love peace forgiveness obeying the commands of God, coming to God through Jesus, turning the other cheek, and not condemning others. I do not know what the Qua-ran say, nor have I read it. I do believe in forgiveness and forgiveness of self.
