What would atheist do if the book The God Delusion got burned?Oh i know "dam that cost me $6.78 at Barnes and Noble"...."so anybody for some coffee." I never knew atheists read books.. You learn something new everyday.. Yep and write books also while drinking their coffee.

If there were an Afghan military base in our country burning bibles, it wouldn't be pretty. The reaction is as it should be. That's horse ****, Christians would piss and moan for a while then go home and pray for those who burned them, muslims just live like animals.

it's an unfortunate incident but really no big deal - religious extremists will latch onto any excuse heaven only knows - having been in a DT center the books could have required burning as riddled with germs respect their religion and culture???? well OK gimme something to respect.... and most of us do respect cultural diversity - not terrorism & extremists who cannot be reasonable

However when a man writes in the Koran it is no longer sacred. the right thing was done. the right method was not used (for lack of knowledge). Even after being written in it must still be treated with reverence. And disposed of in a certian maner. so this is the case of a Stranger doing the Blessed thing but not in the right way. They should be showing the right way. Instead of Chastising the Stranger.

If a vastly more powerful invading force occupies your country for years and kills of thousands of your people and then stamps down on your right to free speech for example, how far would you go to get your right to free speech back? or would you simply do nothing and take it? every culture holds something important that might not neccesarily be important to other cultures, but it must be respected just the same, especially if you are occupying the country of said culture They shouldn't have got into a d ick measuring contest with us then.........

Those who promote and enjoy stories such as this one are the same who would be out with their guns if anyone were to burn their holy bible. We are a nation of hostile hypocrites....it's time to take a good hard look in our mirrors! List some examples of this happening.. I want to know when people amassed in the streets with weapons after a bible was burned.. List examples of hostility towards other nations??? Pffft. Read these threads on a daily basis! So there are no examples of people in this country amassing in the streets brandishing weapons in protest of someone burning a bible.. That is what I thought. Well you thought whatever you wanted to think... I could give a rats *** if you disagree with me as far as this country being hostile towards others. The truth is out. The world already knows. Doesn't matter what either of us thinks. Were so hostel that we provide aid to almost any country that asks and give more in aid then most countries together..........

I doubt it really matters. We were behind the NATO attack on Christian Serbia to help the Muslim Albanians in Kosovo and just a couple of years later we got thanked with 9-11.. The Russians slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Afghanistan and Chechnya and for some reason they are good friends with the regimes.. Trying to pinpoint why is useless..

you speak as if all muslims are one closely knit group of people rather than a vast and diverse population. you also speak as if the minority extremists are somehow indicative of the entire population of muslims ... i mean, really?? the westboro baptist church are christians ... so all christians all over the world pickit funerals of dead soldiers and spout hateful homophobic rhetoric ... every single christian the world over are all the same ... if all muslims the world over are identical in their worldview and outlook ... right?

You were referring to extremists in the post I replied to. Nowhere did I make any claim that all Muslims did this or that. You said that speaking badly of Muslims is what the extremists believe all the west feels towards them. I gave 2 examples of why what people say or do is irrelevant when it comes to the extremists. Comparing the Westboro Baptist Church protesting to protests in the Muslim world.. specifically the case in Afghanistan is absurd. People have been killed over this in Afghanistan.. I don't recall the Westboro Baptist Church killing anyone at their protests of fallen soldiers..
