I know huh, thanks Alterette :-) No autopsy, I am sure they await toxicology.. Update: He has purchased a Kindle something-or-other, I believe he took Wux's advice. He is powering it up as we speak, may take some time. Prognosis=favorable. Okay, he will still expect max capacity sympathy, so.. Hang in good people, we can pull him through! Nice Leigh and Terry, I am sure after seeing your posts he went away from the light. Ghostrider, do you have an inside track there? Nope.......I just get a vision of Crime tape and chalk outlines of various PC parts............. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm |

I swear by netbooks. They are $180 around my area, and they do everything I expect of a computer to do. I need a screan for them, and a keyboard, and an external CD drive. In the US I am sure you can buy one with a built-in CD drive. These babies are also good for saving money and time on virus protection. You don't even need to turn the virus protection on-- you don't pay for a year, or even beyond that, because the moment your computer acts up or behaves sluggish or unstable, then you back up your data and reformat the disk and the replace the operating system, to the condition in which it came out of the factory. It takes five minutes of work, and an hour's waiting time for the computer to reinstall and start up the operating system components and built-in programs. You don't need to fumble with disks and putting them in the drive and out, because the reinstallation program with all its acoutraments are resident in the hard drive, in a partition that never gets erased and never gets overwritten. So fo $180 I get a computer, for $20 I get a keyboard and mouse, wired or wireless, $20 an external CD drive, and for $200 a huge screen, with LED so that response time is not an issue, refresh is not an issue, and it does not heat up the room in the summer like an oven. I mean, for $420 I get a nice computer that fits in a knapsack, so I can lug it to coffee shops and to the butcher, at home it's perfect to watch movies on it for a guy and maybe a girl-attachment, it has built in WII and WI-Fi so you hook up to the internet with a click, etc. etc. etc. I'll never go back to desktops or even to laptops. The screen has a TV input, so I can hook up anything to it -- MDV, DIV, RGB, WRY, cable or even capable. (I went wild-hairy here, this was the silly part.) I spent $300.00 a year ago, for a rebuilt almost 10 year old computer.(I didnt know that at the time.........he got me!) That basnastard! When this one dies, and it wont be long, im throwing it through his front window. He NEVER should of conned me, and then show me where he lived! |
