Do you believe in life after death
___________________________________________________________________ Of course, I was a caveman, then walked the streets with Jesus Christ ( but didn't make the cut to be a saint), I was the navigator on the Mayflower, A private during the revolutionary war, A corporal in the rebel army ( ever though I lived in New Jersey), I was a Indian in the wild west and a bootlegger during prohibition |

I believe in what my own mind tells me ...about a after life and what that will be for my own comfort ... but really is not known yet ...
I believe in our spirits...that will live on ... know matter what ... and be where we are meant to be or the origin we came from ...as spirits ... what is that one says... if this life is not good enough ...an if nothing more...need the end to set me free. |

FWIW, I believe in reincarnation.
The ego is a powerful construct that increases our biological chances for survival. I don't believe it lasts after death. Heck, it doesn't even last while some people are alive with Alzheimer's or dementia. I don't get people who think that they're going to go to a heaven somewhere and carry on with the same BS they pull while they're alive. If that's the case, I really don't want to go there and be with them for all Eternity. |

People are afraid of the unknown.
Actual death is final. Since nobody ever comes back later from actual death, it is an unknown. There is a difference between dead and final dead. In final dead, there is no return. I had a NDE and experienced death and was revived. My brain went into overload and started firing randomly to try to jolt me back. It was euphoric and vivid and I remember it clearly. I also remember the rush of pain that flooded me when they revived me. I wasn't completely in final death. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here to type this reply. I know I will die again and it will be final death and I will cease to exist. I am not afraid of the unknown. I used to be, till I had a brush with actual death. Nothing really scares me anymore? I have been sedated for surgery. That is the closest I have experienced final death. Its a blank spot for me. I have no memory of that block of time and when I came out of it, I realized I sensed nothing at all and for that time, I was nothing. There was no me. I think that's what final death is. Nothing. No memories, no thoughts, no sense of self, just nothing. Personally, I am okay with that. I see no problem allowing people to find their comfort believing in an after-life. If it gives them peace, they should believe what they want. For me, its just another delusion but I have found that some people prefer delusion over reality and who am I to say it is bad? |

I believe in it more so now after I read Michael Newton's first two books about the spiritual world. They are good starter books to read for those wanting to learn more about that subject.
If interested, give them a read. First book title is, "Journey of Souls", and the second book that comes after it is, "Destiny of Souls." I was always somewhat spiritual and have experienced unexplained things here and there, but when I read books like I just mentioned, things make so much more sense now. |
