Hey guys, Just checking out the latest of inside addition... Tiger Woods' ex, Elin Nordegren, who won a 100 million dollar settlement in the divorce, has bulldozed the 12 million dollar mansion, and hired an architect to design a new one at the cost of 12.2 million.. now, you may ask, why is this in general discussion.. Because I'm asking a question here. What kind of idiot bulldozes an elegant 12 million dollar mansion? Really, i want to know.. because in my humble way of thinking, this may quite well be the most idiotic thing i've ever heard. First.. say you have a million bucks... and you have a 12 million dollar home, so basically, that's 112 million in assets. So, you throw away a quarter of that, leaving somewhere in the neighborhood, maybe 720,000.. Can someone please explain to me, the thought pattern here ? Is it that important, to destroy someones (i guess ex-dream) just for revenge? Is it really that important? I know tiger deserved the divorce, but just what does this do for her well being? She could simply have sold the property, retained the 12 million in assets, and still have nearly 100 million..Instead, she has 3/4 of it, at best. So, the question is, how much is the cost of revenge? How important is it, really? Think about it this way, she's not really gaining anything by doing this, she's given away approximately 22.5 million.. Is this really going to hurt Tiger? I seriously doubt it. if anything, he's probably happy to see her throw the money away. So, does revenge really ever work? Your thoughts, please. Thanks |

What kind of idiot bulldozes an elegant 12 million dollar mansion? a woman REALLY scorned I guess lol So, the question is, how much is the cost of revenge? How important is it, really? As fun as it might be to dream about it at times....revenge really doesn't do anything for me. I tend to feel worse |

Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd,
Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd. |

When you got that kind of money you can do pretty much whatever you want. She may have like the property but hated the house.

I believe this is an issue - from my point of view- on how a person values or doesn't value money! She has it! Has she ever worked for it? Well...if you have it ...you have the privilege to invest it (tax law might support what she did); spend it or give away!
She must have top notch financial advisor! I hope! |

"So, does revenge really ever work?"
Probably not, but I'm sure there are some who swear they feel better when they can 'get even' with another. She reacted impulsively and foolishly. Seems wasteful and wasteful is foolish. |

Maybe we don't have all the facts.
What if.. what if, once you opened the front door (of the old mansion) there was artificial green turf on all the floors. Bleachers, for seating. The Golf Channel on every big-screen TV. The cat's peeing in the sand trap. Might not all be revenge. Conspicuous consumption is a greedy mistress. |

Hummm well she would still be left with around 76 million....More then any human should be able to spend in a life time...
Guess it all depends on where the house was? For they did have a house that was on a island....Island's are not that easy to come by... But think I would have had the house re-vamped to my liking before I would bulldoze it to the ground and start over... It goes to show ya some people have way too much money and no concept of what they have.... |

And here I am a red neck trailer trash that would love a chance to live like that...........

She may valued the money more if it hadnt come from Tiger, but it makes a great slap in the face for someone to say, Im taking having of everything you own and pissing it away....

Let's not forget that land is also included in the value of a home...and...location, location, location. This may have been her way of getting rid of bad memories.

Thanks Okay, if she bulldozes the 12 million dollar home, then spends 12 million building a home. With all the technological advances top of the line. Remembering it cheaper to build from the ground up over remodeling. The value of the said new home could be worth anywhere from 36 million and up, thereby tripling the amount and accruing rather than losing value. |

A man like Tiger, who has that much money, and can have just about any woman he wants is stupid to have ever married a spoiled beeitch like her.
Yes she is stupid to bull doze the house, but when you have that much money, its not really going to affect her life style to lose 13 million. In Las Vegas I've seen hotels taken down and new ones built inside of 6 months. The property (location) is apparently worth more than the building. |
