Earlier: Chopper Chicks in Zombietown

Then: Subspécies 2 - Bloodstone

After that: Dead Of Night (1977)

Just finished: Crimson - This is just a 30 minute film that I really hoped would be good.

Storyline

Set in a world where a devastating virus has turned most of the population into blood-thirsty predators, Crimson is a post-apocalyptic re-envisioning of the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. The story unfolds through two characters - a lone special operations soldier who has been separated from the rest of his team, and a young girl who he encounters while trying to survive the hostile yet desolate landscape. Although they are wary of each other in the beginning, the two eventually form a close bond. The soldier soon realizes that he must protect the girl from the dangers lurking around them - in the only way he knows how. But as time moves forward, it becomes apparent that he must not only teach the girl how to defend herself, but also prepare her for the inevitability that he cannot protect her for much longer.

It had a good storyline and a nice poster. Plus, I love it when fairy tales get a horror twist. Sadly, this short film had no character development whatsoever, the plot evidently have been forgotten and the whole movie seemed pointless. Still, I wish someone with more experience and talent would latch on to the idea and develop it because it really is a good one.

Yes, that's a really good one. Ventriloquist dummies freak me out.

If only they would have based it on the graphic novel. What a movie that could have been. Sigh.

Dictado (aka Childish Games)

...tells the story of a childless couple, Daniel and Laura, both teachers, who are confronted by an unusual situation when Mario, a childhood friend of Daniel's, turns up acting strangely and wanting them to meet his daughter, Julia. Daniel manages to get rid of him, but the next day he learns of Mario's suicide. Julia, who is now an orphan, ends up being taken in temporarily by the couple, despite Daniel's discomfort at not only the strange encounter with Mario but also the excessive enthusiasm of Laura at playing the role of mother. The tension builds as Laura tries to help Julia regain the will to live and Daniel begins to feel threatened by some of Julia's behaviors, as well as the apparent awakening of memories of a terrifying past involving Mario that he thought he had put behind him.
