My parents took me to see the original when it was in the theaters, I was 7, all I remember was my mom covering my eyes during the scene when Jane was sitting on the toilet.

That was the first Stephen King book I read, it was right after they started advertising the movie on TV when it first came out, and I knew one of my older sisters had the book.

I haven't read the book yet, The first book I read was Dolores Claiborne,the first movie I saw was Needful Things. my favorite movies are It, Misery, Children of the Corn, and Pet Semetary. Oh,and Carrie also

His movies get a lot of flack, but considering how many have been made into films, I think they've had a pretty good track record- Carrie, The Dead Zone, Stand By Me, The Green Mile, Delores Claiborne, Misery, Shawshank Redemption, Salem's Lot '79, Cat's Eye, Cujo...and for pure fun so bad it's good- Maximum Overdrive.
