My mother used to make these tuna balls,
in muffin tins. I have been trying to
replicate them for years :-)
Mmmmm.

Fried pork chops, kernal corn, ranch style beans and cornbread. Mom used to fix it "special" "just for me."

My Grandma's Polish food....old school Hunke food.

Potato and onion pancakes for breakfast with balogna crosses.

Perogies. Potato stuffed dough, pan seared in garlic butter.

Gwumpki. Beef and onion stuffed cabbage rolls.

Halushki. Cabbage, onion, and egg noodles sauteed clear with kielbasa sausage.

Lady fingers for dessert. Pastries stuffed with apricots.

......hungry now.......

Mom's chicken mole poblano. I took the recipe to culinary school and modified it for our competition class. Still make it once a month usually.

Well my mom always cooked fresh like whatever vegetable was in season like fresh peas (I hated them, like them now though) homemade mashed potatoes instead of instant, so my favorite food was the school cafeterias instant mashed potatoes, with canned peas, instant gravy and this biscuit like thing that had canned meat in it yum!

I could add to this if it was stuff I couldn't stand. My mother wasn't the world's best cook, and my father had the worst food preferences imaginable. He would put milk in anything.

The ukrainian versions of all of the above! plus, homemade french fries and nylesniky (blintzes).
Fortunately, I learned to cook most of the recipes Baba's way, so I don't go hungry.drinker

My favorite school lunch as a child: Egg salad sandwiches. You would think having them EVERY day for years (except when the school had spaghettti day, then just about everyone bought a school lunch) you'd get to hate an egg salad sandwich, but no I still enjoy them every now and then drool

My mom made this cake every Christmas.

She took cake mix, and put pudding in the mix, and crushed up strawberries.

THen she frosted it with coconut, and almond, and fresh strawberry frosting.

It was so moist and so delicious, and omg, the way it smelled cooking in the oven, it was like heaven, and................................
