Topic: Why do people assume there is only one God? | |

Older than time. "As the sun has rays of light which emanate from the same source, the same holds true for the multifaceted aspects of God emanating from Brahman, like many colors of the same prism." Chāndogya Upanishad and Hymns of the Rigveda |

Revelation 22:13 “I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”... 22:16 - “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches
Isaiah 43:10-12...Ye are my witnesses, saith the God, and my servant whom I have chosen : that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed , {neither shall there be after me}. 11 I, even I, am the God; and beside me there is no saviour . 12 I have declared , and have saved , and I have shewed , when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the God, that I am God. Prophecy is saying God is to come OT Isaiah 40:3 A voice is calling , Clear the way for God in the wilderness, make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.... Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send (my messenger John the baptist), and he shall prepare the way before( Me): and the God, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come, saith the God of hosts....clearly scriptures prophecies Johh the Baptist will prepare the way Of God , Yet it is JESUS who shows up on the scene.....“ Jesus is God. In the passage beginning with Zechariah 11:4, “the God my God” said, “So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.” In Zechariah 12:10 God stated, “They shall look upon (Me) whom they have pierced.” Of course, it was Jesus who was sold for thirty pieces of silver and who was pierced (Matthew 26:14-16; John 19:34) acts 20:28 which says God paid with his own blood hope this helps you to the narrow path |

Jesus and the Father are One God, the Godhead - the Everlasting Father, Son, Holy Spirit...
God was manifest in the flesh = JESUS Jesus is God, Everlasting Father, beloved Son, Holy Spirit. All that is written of the Godhead is true His office is manifold He always has been and He always will be... He had no predecessor and He'll have no successor... There's nobody before Him and there'll be nobody after Him... ...Exodus 3:8: “I have come down to deliver them out ... Jesus Christ, God manifest in flesh, God with us, the Everlasting Father, ascended to His rightful place in heaven. He is WORTHY! Jesus is the Son of God....the Son of Man....the Everlasting Father....the Holy Spirit. All that God is, Jesus is Scripture declares Jesus is the Everlasting Father, mighty God. I don't argure with Scripture God became flesh.... and Jesus is His name Jesus is all that Father and Holy Spirit are......One God, Creator, Redeemer, Friend Jesus possesses all attributes of God because He is God! Jesus Christ, our God. ... Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. —Hebrews 13:8 God's plan of salvation would be established in spite of the wicked nations Faith comes by hearing the Word of God ( the seed) . Christians need to plant seeds. Ya never know what will become of the seeds you plant Courting is wholesome...but few do it Many people want the blessings but not the responsibility of following and obeying Jesus |

When it comes to Christianity each denomination teaches their "flock" that there is only one God...Each denomination also claims to be the one and only "true faith" sanctioned by God or Jesus etc...When my parents sent me to Catholic schools as a child I remember being taught that the Catholic Church was the one and only "true faith."...Later in life I explored other religions for awhile. I was surprised that other denominations also claim to be the "one true faith." This seemed like quite a revelation at the time...One of my friends has been going through a rough time so I volunteered to attend church services with her a few times. (For support.)...Her pastor has insinuated that their denomination or brand of Christianity is the one and only "true path" to God and redemption several times...He warns the congregation not to be "fooled" by other Christian churches or organizations that could lead them "astray."....So all Christian churches teach that there is only one God. But there is dispute and competition when it comes to which denomination is the "one and only true faith" sanctioned by God. Have you ever noticed this?

Hmm ... here we have Exodus: 2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Does this mean he's JUST the God of those he brought out of Egypt? 3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me. Could this be interpreted as there are, indeed, other Gods, but He demands that just these people should only worship the one who saved them? These are interesting tidbits of Jewish history. In the ancient near East, the jewish people believed in many gods-there was no one monolithic thing called "Judaism". The commandment you mentioned is there because Yahweh (distinct from Elohim) demanded loyalty from his people. |

Jesus is the God that lead the children of Israel from out of egypt and also the God that will lead the new exodus out of the world – "For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the God made the heavens." Psalms 96:5 I absolutely agree there are no other gods in Acts 20:28 -Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with (his own blood) also in isaiah 43 vs 10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the God, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me Jesus is the speaker of Torah...... there but one speaker of the entire Holy Bible not two |

God is one thing.... that which is.
That which is exists, is God. That which exist is consciousness. Consciousness is God. |

But if you are talking about deities, there are many of those.

The commandment you mentioned is there because Yahweh (distinct from Elohim) demanded loyalty from his people. During the Old Covenent while Jesus was still alive there were some Jews {Physical judaites} [of Israel} who were true followers of God.......we call these people Israelites not Jews The word Jew is not in torah... word Jew is not in the first 5 books of the bible....the correct word is Israelite Genesis 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens and (Exodus 6:2-3). Exodus 6:2 "And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, "I am the Lord:" Exodus 6:3 "And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them." These are his names at different times at first they did not know him by Jehovah it was the All Mighty |
