Religion never was the answer for the world.... and never will be. Only Jesus Is the Answer for the world. Cause...Jesus ain't about just joining another religion.... but Is the Way to get man back into Relationship with God...which comes thru Jesus. That's what Jesus was all about...all along..... Relationship ...not religion. I imagine the same thing can be said about the Buddha. He taught about our relationship with the supreme source of all life, not about religion. So I agree, these great sages were never about religion and the sooner more people start to recognize this the better off we'll all be. Same thing holds true for men like Confucius, Lao Tzu, and many others. Even for modern men like the Dalai Lama, or people like Deepak Chopra. All of these men are basically the same as Jesus. It's not about Jesus, it's about the message. And thus everyone who carries the same message is one in the same as Jesus. We are gods, we and the "Father" are one. Although the patriarchal notion of a spiritual "Father" is man-made. Some cultures view the spiritual essence of life as the "Mother" of all creation. But it's the same concept in any case, because spirit has no gender. "Tat t'vam asi". That was the message of Jesus. Not religious bigotry. |

People who cannot have loving relationships with other people are not going to succeed at having a relationship with God.
Once everyone truly learns how to truly love and be loved, then they will have relationship with God. Not before. |

If you are getting married and you have no intentions on doing it for the purpose of having children and raising a family, then Marriage is simply a business partnership. Its about property. Community property. Its about quid pro quo. I'll take care of you, you take care of me. I'll support you, you will have sex with me when I want it. I will work, you can keep house and be my sex kitten. Or lets both get jobs so we can afford to pay the rent or buy a house. Business. A contract with two people and THE STATE. p.S. THE STATE IS EVIL. GOD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MARRIAGE. thats perception. God is involved wherever we perceive or wish him to be, thats a personal choice. My vows included what GOD has joined together and it was very much an invitation to include GOD and make a vow to God as well as to each other,,, |

Marriage is , bummer i dont know what it is. It is a business partnership, but it is sooooo much more, at the end of the day a business is a business. If it falls apart thats cool you just start again, If it doesnt work with your partner just sell the thing and move on.. Bummer sounds a lot like marraige when you write it on paper. A business has some emotional parts, but a marraige is giving yourself to someone else, completely without reservations, it involves the here mind and body.. with a business one person can do it alone if the other gets slack and doesnt bother as much, but a marriage cannot do that, You have to have all three, you cannot put anything before it, ( well if you are a christian god comes firts but if you are faithful that should help, if you are a hypocrite it will destroy it) A marraige is more than just a commitment, it a giving of your life to someone, else, not just a part but everything.. Well that just my opinion.. |

Funches: Are you a man or are you not? I ask this question because if you answer yes you have been programed to answer this way by your gender. To answer no would be to denounce being a man. "mylifetoday"..you guys use such bad examples....of course I'm a man...I popped out of my mother's womb as a male child people do not pop out of wombs as Christians unless they pop out of the womb nailed to a cross...Christian is a title they choose to use but Cowboy is trying to blame me for having to use the title of Christian ...which is why I asked the question is he a Christian yes or no ...a no answer would deny Jesus a yes answer would indicate that it's a title that he choose himself I am an accountant. That is what I have trained to do and what I know. So, if I am asked to say either I am or not and if I say I am not I am denouncing the educational system is nonsense. did you pop out of your mother's womb as an accountant and instantly start counting your fingers and toes in order to prepare an invoice for your mother's medical birth services....if the answer is no ...then an accountant is something you choose to do, not programmed from birth or peer pressured into doing.... I'm asking these questions because it appears that some Christians generally try to make it appear that being a Christian has nothing to do with religon as they praise the God of a religion which only proves that it is a religion |

How does my "indoctrination" come into play here? Do you seriously believe there are zero Christians in this world that chose to be Christians of their own free will? |

Religion and the Tobacco Companies have the same motto .....get them hooked while they are young and you will have them for life in some shape form or fashion |

So, if I understand you, my friend who was an avowed Athiest for 35 years of his life that converted to Christianity did so because he was indoctrinated and had no real conscious choice to do so simply because he said at some point, "I am Christian."
According to your logic, there is no rational person that has ever deliberately chosen to be Christian. Everyone has done so because they are brainwashed and no other reason. |

Satan can make that same claim ...he too followed Jesus around and didn't practice a religion ...is he also Christian? According to your logic, there is no rational person that has ever deliberately chosen to be Christian. Everyone has done so because they are brainwashed and no other reason. Christians claim to love a guy that been dead for over 2,000 years and believe that this guy loves them because a book told them so...what does this have to do with being rational? |

And so the story continue's..
The trouble is that to a point you are both right, and nothing ever can or will be proved.. Hmm unless Funches comes on here one day and says he's a christian, then i will believe anything. |

God will only reveal himself to you if you first invite him in and ask for it. God doesn't show himself to those who do not wish to have a relationship.God will show you signs previous to this, yes. But he will not totally show himself until the person in question is absolutely ready and willing to see him. |

Being a Christian involves no doctrine in exacts. You could be informed of Christ verbally and taught all about him verbally without ever reading any doctrine and accept Jesus into your heart. A Christian is nothing more then a person giving their life up for our Christ. Doing as he says to do and not doing the things he says not to do. Yes, we stumble from time to time, but Jesus offers forgiveness for these mistakes and mishaps. |

So, if I understand you, my friend who was an avowed Athiest for 35 years of his life that converted to Christianity did so because he was indoctrinated and had no real conscious choice to do so simply because he said at some point, "I am Christian." According to your logic, there is no rational person that has ever deliberately chosen to be Christian. Everyone has done so because they are brainwashed and no other reason. It is impossible for Christianity to "brainwash" anyone. A person is only a Christian when the have WILLINGLY chosen to follow after Jesus. Someone can not be "persuaded" or "converted" until they absolutely believe in the first place. I could tell you Jesus is the only path to heaven, can that statement "brainwash" you? No it can not, it only has any form of control over you once you first give credit to it. You first choose to believe it before it could ever have any form of power over you. So, again as you see it is literally impossible to be brainwashed by religion. |

That's also true of vampires. Not true of Jehovah's witnesses or zombies. If the door is open, they will wander right in. |
