I have had cats most of my life...or rather cats have had me...
I also have had the joy of sharing space with dogs, horses, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, peacocks... Here...the cats have a purpose...they keep the vermin down, the chook pen and grain attract bush mice...which in turn keeps the venemous snake population down. We currently have 4 cats....and only one was an intentional choice on our part...the other 3 chose to live with us....and the newest is a half grown little calico persian about to be a mumma cat. The other three are desexed males, and when the mumma cat has her litter, ALL of them, including her, will be desexed. They do hunt....they do kill things...they are too fat and lazy to bother the bird life..., but they do what is instinctual...we have a possum that wanders in most nights for a cut up pear and a scratch....and sits on the rail with two cats asleep on the outdoor table 2 feet away... I have more issue with humans sh *tting up my neighbourhood, than I do standing in the odd animal turd... ...and as far as trapping, exterminating, leashing cats, dogs or other animals that bother you.... get over yourself...shame the same rules don't apply to arseholes that murder, abuse and destroy the animal kingdom's homes/yards/neighbourhood. |

Great! We are on the same page then....
You would kill something that someone loves and don't care.... I disagree with that position. Back to the topic at hand... Cats cant be controlled like dogs or cattle.... (I love dogs) If you gotta kill something cause you can't control it...homever raised you...... FAILED. I won't post anymore in this thread cause it has cost me someone whom I respected and considered a friend.... I won't risk more than that here. C'est le Vie. |

As much as I love cats. Your property is your property, and you can do whatever you please with your property. If someones poor cat is killed because they eat a poisonous plant that you planted in your yard, that's the irresponsible owners fault, not yours, especially if you take the time and consideration to give out a notice that you will be planting flowers that could harm them. Thanks for understanding. I don't mind passing our notices to my neighbors as I don't really want to see their cats die. I am hoping the marigolds will just scare them off before they get near my Lilies. I for one was glad to see the law of licensing and keeping cats indoors passed here. It has cut back a lot of the feces in the neighborhood. |
