Why do people feel they have to be validated to fit in?
"Am I hot", "Am I Pretty", and "Do Men Like A Little Meat On The Bones" etc..... I read these threads and wonder, why does no one tell them there is no need to be validated other than me? Isn't the number one rule for a successful life and relationship "to love thy self"? |

A sad need for attention, I suppose....I just try to jump in and have fun and don't worry about what others think. Would rather they just like me for who I am than to convince me that I am likeable

I really didn't see the one post as her needing validated. I just sort of took it as she was putting herself out there and trying to attract the kind of men that liked what she had to offer. It's all in context I guess. Sort of a newbie thing maybe. :P

I totally agree & have thought about posting something similar myself. I don't need any validation from anyone to know who & what I am. If I answer any of these post at all I usually have some snide remark like "It's ok but nothing exceptional" or something to that effect. Attention whores are just sickening!! JMHO

I think it's some peoples' way of saying... "LOOK AT ME"!!! Lol! It actually works for a lot of them. Well, at least they're getting the kind of reaction they're looking for... Not necessarily what they need.
