My TV is sitting in the corner, cold and sad. Quite possibly cursing Netflix. Maybe I should turn it on, just to let it know it's still loved.

The Pit

Trivia:

The original screenplay differed greatly from the final draft. According to screenwriter Ian Stuart, besides being a much darker more serious movie; the "trogs" were supposed to be entirely in the mind of the "Jamie" character. These changes were supposedly made by director Lew Lehman.

The director's wife refused to let him shoot the nude scenes, so the screenwriter shot them instead. The only shot involving nudity that the director was allowed to film was the "skinny dipping" scene and only because the actress was his daughter.

The original "trog" costumes were deemed not realistic enough, so new costumes were created in Los Angeles and the interior pit scenes were shot on a soundstage in Toronto, Ontario.

It's super hard to find, but the novelization is based on the original screenplay, it's titled- Teddy.

A few years ago there was a fan site dedicated to The Pit, Ian Stuart posted his ideas for a sequel he would like to have done- it picks up directly where The Pit ends.

What happened to the site and the ideas? I would be very much interested to see a modern day sequel or even a remake.
