A few years ago there was a fan site dedicated to The Pit, Ian Stuart posted his ideas for a sequel he would like to have done- it picks up directly where The Pit ends.

What happened to the site and the ideas? I would be very much interested to see a modern day sequel or even a remake.

It got overrun by spammers. There won't be a remake because Hollywood probably isn't aware of its existence, probably won't see a sequel because the film isn't that well known...BUT I will never say never since there is a sequel to The House At The Edge Of The Park in the works, so anything is possible.

Stupid spammers. I'll hope for the best then. :)

By the way, in the movie, I thought at first that Teddy was just a figment of his imagination, up until it turned its head. So was the bear possessed or something?

That's one of the many neat little things about the movie, it's Jamie's voice when we hear the bear talk, yet it did move on its own. I think part of it is the fact that the original script all of these things were Jamie's imagination, but when the script was changed some things carried over.

Without spoiling the 30 year old movie, what did you think of the ending?

Yeah, I noticed, which was why I went with the premise that Teddy was just an imaginary friend--until it moved. I even went as far as thinking that one of the Trogs inhabited Teddy. I also wondered what happened to him when he left Teddy to play with the girl in the end.

I already knew what the ending would be like when I saw the girl. I guess it was poetic justice, but I was hoping for a different one.

Popcorn

A "Leatherface" type murderer who wears other people's faces, kills at an all-night horrorthon at an old theatre put on by a bunch of film students. Maggie, the lead character, believes it's really Lanyard Gates, a crazed film maker who killed his family live on stage, fifteen years ago. And now he's back to kill his daughter, Sara, who is believed to be really Maggie.

And I want a Shock Clock exactly like the one in the movie! laugh

After Midnight

Horror anthology about a college professor (Zada) teaching a course called "The Psychology of Fear". He brings his students (including psychic McWhirter) to his home, one dark and stormy night to tell scary stories. The first involves a young couple whose car breaks down by an old, abandoned house. The second has four trendy teenage girls getting lost in a bad part of town, and chased by a pack of vicious dogs. Last, we have Helgenberger confronting a stalker at the answering service where she works the night shift.

Tales from the Darkside "My Ghostwriter - The Vampire"

A horror writer struggling for another novel makes a deal with a vampire: source material for sanctuary. However, when the vampire demands profit and credit, the author gets too greedy and decides to sever the partnership.

I loved Tales from the Darkside while I grew up. Along with Rod Serling's Night Gallery, Kolchak: the Night Stalker and Tales From the Crypt. Those were good memories.

Oh, and can't forget Elvira, Mistress of the Dark! I think I was in love with her, my dad, never could figure out why he liked her show. laugh laugh laugh

Me too! When I was growing up, those were my favorite shows. Also, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Twilight Zone. :)

Tales from the Darkside "The Apprentice"

College sophomore Sarah McBride accepts a job at Colonial Village, a tourist attraction that recreates Puritan life in 1692 Salem and allows nothing from the 20th century. But things aren't quite what they seem.

I think this is my very favorite Darkside episode! bigsmile

Tales from the Darkside "Payment Overdue"

A callous collection agent discovers that she herself has an overdue payment involving Rita Valdez, a client who took drastic steps to end her financial woes.

Don't think I have ever seen this one before...

Tales From The Darkside, Monsters, Tales From The Crypt, Ray Bradbury Theater, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Night Gallery, Amazing Stories, Twilight Zone...all good stuff.

I remember a really short lived anthology series from the early 80's titled Darkroom, it was hosted by James Coburn.

I thought it was pretty decent. Fun bit of useless trivia, the production design was done by one of my favorite comic book artists/writer Paul Chadwick.

I love the ending, it's very classic Tales From The Crypt revenge at the end type ending.

I like this movie, saw it in the theater when released, and I have the poster for it.

Tales from the Darkside "Mary Mary"

A woman who lives with mannequins because she is unable to deal with real people gets a rude awakening.

Don't know why, but there is something about Margaret Whitton that I have always found captivating. Probably from her role in "The Secret of My Succe$s" turned 19 that year...
