I actually love staying home .. but would want something on the side to invest time into. Raising my children without a job for the past 18 mos has been incredibly rewarding.

ive been with the same company for nearly 23 yrs. they shut down for 2 months last year and didnt know if they would open back up. we re opened, streamlined, and now its looking a little better. im not taking my job for granted anymore, i now know any day could be my last

Security is just like good health ... Never really appreciate what you have until you lose it! All "deaths" are a challenge to growth ...

Those who have self confidence can rise to the challenge. Those with low self esteem can become overwhelmed. I have a good friend who lost her job and fears that at 55 she will not find another. I have been trying to encourage her with the fact that she is discounting her wealth of knowledge and experience. As her friend it is my job now to show her just how valuable she is.

Its tough being unemployed!!! My money is O K but just the losing self worth can be a battle sometimes. BUT I am getting to vollenteer for Specail Olympics, at the Humane Society and hopefully be able to golf more with the nice weather finally moving in, so its looking up!!!

Volunteering is a great way to network also. You never know who you may come in contact with and you are doing a good thing at the same time. So it is a win-win situation.

But you know if you are receiving unemployment benefits you are not able to volunteer or they can refuse payment. Ridiculous.

Ya I am 59 and it can be daunting, but actually age works on our behalf in today's market

I now work as an independent agent for a bondsman...never a dull moment. But now I get to choose when I work...the money is pretty good. I love to work. No benefits though!
