Topic: My Wrist

From impact trauma I think that I sprained my wrist. It doesn't hurt like it's broken. I can't bend or twist it at all without it feeling like I'm going to break something in it, but typing isn't very uncomfortable.

So... just any advice on how to help this healing move along?

Greatly appreciated.

Awww, thanks.

No machines for me, though.

Definitely see a doctor. If it's sprained, you'll need to wear a brace. Sprains are often more painful than breaks and sometimes take as long to heal.

The magic words are 'Doctor' and 'X-ray' ... but, since it's 'no machines' for you, I'm outa options other than aspirin and a brace.

Thanks Winx and USmale

I'll probably get a brace and just lay off it for a couple days. I genuinely appreciate all the responses. Thank you.

Hmmmm ... Take our Time Machine back and "don't do it!" ...

K ... I'm the same on bein' a noodge at not goin' for x~rays ...

... Though I instantly take my daughter and would do the same w/ you ...

... End Lecture ...

So, the folks are correct about the brace, read: Essential ... Cast it!!!

... NOT just an ACE bandage for compression either, but a proper brace w/ the metal girding ... ESP if ya can get one w/ magnets in it ...

Ya wanna KEEP it immobilized ... all the time, except for soaking/icing!!!

... I work w/ magnets A LOT, they greatly accelerate all recovery! Bandage one around the brace w/ a bandana, if ya have one ... or a "clean crystal" ...Quartz has the same energetic principles here ...

Soak your hand/wrist in a strong, epsom salts and warm water solution ($2 at Target or WallyWorld, when ya get the brace!) FREQUENTLY ...

... Immediately afterwards, ice it ... Continue this cycle w/ exhausting repetition!

ICING is paramount in taking down the swelling that the healing can begin, the swelling is gorging the area w/ blood to cast it ... but it halts healing and is painful ... let the brace take over ... ICE ... ICE ... ICE ... !!!

Ya can get the great gel ice packs or just use a bag od peas, corn, etc ...

A prescription amount of ibuprofen, also to take down the inflammation, is 4 right now times 4 times daily ... On a tummy w/ a meal, otherwise it'll rip up your guts ...

Aspirin can be substituted ... Also, 20 tart cherries equals the anti~inflammatory/pain killing activity of 1 aspirin, so eat alotta them!

If ya could lay hands on Hyssop Essential Oil, it greatly speeds recovery in this ...A couple of drops in the soaks, and a lil added to creme and rubbed onto the area before wrapping in brace ...

Arnica creme, if hyssop is not available to you ...

Finally, a good multi~mineral to heal it all up ... flowerforyou

Thank you!
It's not swelling. I think it's really just a minor sprain or a muscle injury or something around those lines, but the pain from moving it just led me to seek out advice.

I'll definitely try some of the things you suggested.

Much love,
Colin.

Btw, it's important to never use heat or ice for more than 20 minutes at a time. It causes a rebound affect that causes more inflammation.

flowerforyou ... Good spot, Winx, I'd thought about that tip later ...

... Had to scurry, much more I left out too...

OK, rule of thumb is ALWAYS 20 min. heat or ice ...

But, also includes hot baths, out after 20 ... ALWAYS!

Just to fine tune ...

... When ya use gel ice packs they are much less harsh and easy to cheat on the 20 min proviso ...

Also, I want ya to ONLY use warm water, heat is completely contraindicated at this juncture ...

So, just warm enough to be a tad above body temp and allow the epsoms to draw out the natural toxins from the injury ...

YOU MUST END w/ ICE in the warm/ice cycle ...

NEVER end w/ the heat ...

Will post beyound this, more advice, in a sec ...

You probably just jammed your wrist, time in the brace will reveal if the ER is a necessity for xray after all ... Keep the brace on!!!

grumble ... Now then, since I know a fist fight was involved ...

IF you took a very hard blow to the head, ya could have had a whiplash effect on your neck ...

The nerves that innervate your wrist come from the neck ...

Many a wrist prob originates in the neck ...

Your is likely compounded ... wrist plus neck injury ... perhaps ...

Now, ya apply the epsoms then ice principle ALSO to your neck, all the same advice as previous ...

Use a bandana or tea towel to tie it around, relax ...

The epsoms in a warm bath instead, now, soak your neck ... 20 mins or so ...

You MUST follow w/ the ice, swelling reduction principle ...

Continue w/ brace and all the other info tips ...

MSM/Glucosamine/Chondroitin is also a miracle supplement of 3 here ...

Best blend is the Whole Food brand, 2 caps twice daily ...

That's quite enough for now ... ... once more for the hearing impaired ... WEAR the BRACE!!!

laugh ... Men are so simple, yet so complex ...

Hope the other guy is worse off, or that your best bros again today ...

You're wonderful, Dancere - I'm just not used to having my wrist go out no matter how hard my hand gets hurt.

Thanks for the advice.

Give me a couple days and I'll be back to the same, ol', joyful Colin.

With love,
me.

Kewl!

Sounds as though I won't need to break out the gurney and my lasso after all ...

Daaayyyyuuummm ... Was so hopin' to blare the siren up the main street and dodge pedestrians ...

Ah, youth ... Ya will certainly be on the mend in mere minutes ... laugh

... flowerforyou ... Love ya right back, wicked good ...

Don't know why people are telling you to go to the doctor...just put a brace on and ice it from time to time, can take anywhere from a week to two in order to completly heal, which is pretty much the same thing a doctor will do aside from prescribe some painkillers.

If you don't notice improvement within a week then I would say you should see a doctor.

Thanks, man. It's already doing well. No real need for a doctor unless it doesn't respond well in the future.

Last time I try handstands as a defensive technique. Hehe.

Try soaking it in epson salt. If you can handle real tri-buffered asparin, that may help as well.

I have a high tolerance to OTC drugs, so usually asparin doesn't work on me, but they have this 350MG tri-buffered asparin at work that actually helps. I don't remember the name of it though.
