Topic: What Movies Have You Recently Seen? | |
---|---|
I have actually seen alot of movies in the last year which is new for me. Used to watch alot when i was younger but it usually wasnt new movies.
I just seen 'The Crazies' it wasn't great but i liked it. I love survival flicks, and i'm glad they took the high road and made it less gorey then recent horror/survival movies. I'll be happy to share more movies later, but i'm bout ready 2 hit the sheets. |

I re watched two older movies- The Mutilator A gory 80's slasher flick.
Eyes Of Fire A sadly overlooked early 80's supernatural flick. In the 1700's a small group looking for a new place to live find themselves in a valley where even the Native Americans are afraid to go. The group soon finds out why. Very surreal and creepy moments through out. |

Finally watched The Crazies remake. I enjoyed it. But I still prefer the original. The remake the infected felt more like zombies, or 28 Days Later type-infected. In the original this was much more subtle, which I think made it more effective. Also the military had more of a presence it wasn't just focused on the 3 leads.

A Single Man -
... Lawdy, I loved it!!! Directed by Tom Ford and as if all his years in film just knew the right ingredients for a melodic, whimsical full view into a life, yet captured in one day of that existence! It is sooooooo lean and clean a meditation: at once wistful, sobering, lamenting, gutting, rejoicing, drunken and embracing ... raw and complete! I felt as if I myself had been explained and washed clean ... Ready for the departuring taxi down yon runway ... Oh, and doesn't hurt that the cast is stellarrrific superb - PERFECT! BIG thumbs up ... Sidebar: I found one 'mechanical flaw' ... But that would be a spoiler ... "We'll tawk, after ya see it!" |

The last movie I saw was the A-Team. I loved it and laughed the entire time!

Last in theater was the re-imagined Clash of the Titans, which I only paid $.75 for. It was ok, but SPECTIAL EFFECTS DOMINANT MOVIES ARE GETTING OLD!! Last movie I watched on TV as Species III, and it was somewhat entertaining but I will not watch it again. The first Species is all you need to see to get the jest of that trilogy (basically eye candy for guys).

This is one I've got on my list yet...maybe tonight God I love Colin Firth |

I saw Grown Ups the other day and I thought it was pretty funny. If you like Adam Sandler humor, you'd probably enjoy it.

Green Zone - Great last third and most informative. Pivotal moment in history that ... Worth it just for the class!
"The REASON we go to war is ALWAYS important!!!" ... No reason there, only agenda and subterfuge ... |

Creepy kid double-feature
Joshua 2007 with Sam Rockwell, and Case 39 with Renée Zellweger. Both were decent, Joshua was the better film. Though of the recent evil kid flicks The Children, and Orphan are better films. |

Sunshine Cleaning
Pretty good watch. Interesting. The acting was good. If you liked Ghost World I'd suggest you give it a watch. |

I watch quite a bit in the summer.
The last airbender, the sorcerer's apprentice, inception, salt, eclipse, iron man 2, predators. Pretty much every summer movie that's not for little kids or slapstick. |

Hot Tub Time Machine -
After viewing, and minimal deliberation ... I'd best describe it as Donnie Darko dipped in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, squeezed through a Back to the Future like funnel, tightly wrapped in the Fast Times at Ridgemont High meets Has the Bell Rang yet, then lightly fried in a batter of Dazed and Confused, heavy on the 40 Year Virgin sauce, layered in the Wizard of Doh condiments rolled in the Hangover sprinkles and packed in a Rocky Horror Show to go bag, hand delivered by Overboard to the corner intersection of Road Hogs and Wayne's World, across the tracks from Romy and Michelle ... I was little impressed ... So much possibility there ... Edit ... |

Green Zone - Great last third and most informative. Pivotal moment in history that ... Worth it just for the class! "The REASON we go to war is ALWAYS important!!!" ... No reason there, only agenda and subterfuge ... Interestingly, after watching the special features ... REAL soldiers from the Iraqi conflict were the actors in this film, allowed to best choreograph the scenes/lines from their firsthand, intimate expertise ... W/ the original warrant officer guiding them all also ... Like Charlie Wilson's War ... ??? ... The specials were fundamentally illuminating! Fascinating!!! |
