It only seems cruel because you didn't want it to end. I don't think people walk out of a relationship or a marriage to be cruel..maybe some. Everyone should have the freedom to be who they are,
to do what makes them happy, and not have to be somewhere or with someone out of obligation.

I've been on both ends, I'm not making light of it.. 30 years is a long time..and people do change. The only love that stays the same is the love for our children, the rest is all subjective. I wouldn't look at a 30 year marriage ending as a failure...30 years with the same person is a success.

Well said 30 years is a great achievement. The OP should be proud of this. Celebrating 30 years is the very definition of success, although it's understandable why they feel as they do now.

Just a not understanding of the words another uses can be painful ..understanding that one with ya.

I think what AngelArs said is important to..falling in love really is easy, working on the friendship over the years is the challenge. Many get complacent and assume that they will always be there. Hence the "best friend" connection. It's been joked about..really a fair amount of truth to keeping the ole home fires burning.

Thank you again Lori your absolutely right and I really appreciate your kind words .What I do for a liveing did'nt help matters any and as I stated when those words were brought up in another post it just stirred old wounds .I am long over the loss and have moved on as best I can .I appreciate you good people more than you'll ever know !

Rhi started high school about 4weeks ago....no more major migraines.... a few little mini quakes, but no catastrophic ones.... she still gets the 'click' thing...which the pediatric neurologist said was some form of youth epilepsy....but isn't frightening her, or affecting her as much as they were..

What Star needs to do is get a cheap bottle of tequila and an even cheaper hooker and forget the ex. Talk is cheap and just bailing is even easier. as always,...the one who truly valued the relationship is the only one to agonize over it.

I know it ain't easy to do but, one of my prime survival mechanisms is to disconnect the dots and walk away. Believe me..the more you do it...the more practical it becomes.
