been on a couple dating sites and wonder why alot of the guys feel the need to post pics without their shirt on, is this a macho male thing? or just guys looking for a one night stand , even though their profiles say looking for long term? very confusing.

Equal rights.. I wouldn't mind if you post a profile picture without your shirt!!bigsmile

Meh. They are just trying to show off the goods. They want to make sure that the females out there know they don't have any fat rolls or man boobs.

just curious as to if the guy just wants a fling, why not go to bar and pick up a woman that wants the same? kinda thought a dating site was for ....dating, getting to know someone, finding out what you have in common, not for meaningless sex, if a woman sees a guy with a no shirt pic, it kinda makes them think hes just on here for sex, and maybe thats why all the guys are on here, and dont that kinda ruin it for all the nice guys?

U got a point there Ma'am..
and most girls are attracted more to what they have in common with them than their six-pack abs.

This is all pretty self evident.....

The ones who are modest/shy/ less than self-confident .......do not post skin pix (or at least gripe about the ones who do)

The ones who are happy/ confident in their bodies don't hesitate to show some skin.

The idea that "I am only interested on the inner person".....I don't buy.

Experience tells me that, if given a choice between a physically unattractive person with a beautiful soul......and an attractive person with a beautiful soul.....people go with looks.

Showing some skin is simply a way of showing who you are (physically)

I find it far more honest than hiding ones body behind a mumu.....cause you are gonna have to show what ya got sooner or later.

"Turn off the lights" before sex tells me that a person has real confidence issues.....

So......I say....bring on the skin pix.....let's me know what I am working with.

i agree, any man that takes his shirt of is more than likely after a quick fling, everyone is entitled to do want they want, but ladies if your looking for the real deal, go fully clothed!!!!

I know that on the other site I am on, it is againest the rules for a guy to post shirtless pic's. I think if it is againest the rules for the guys to do it, then it should be againest the rules for women to post in their bikini pictures... Fair is Fair.

I mean we can trash and bash people for their pictures. If we are going to be fair here.

What about the cleavage shots women do. One of the most gross things I saw recently on POF what this woman griping in forums about men wanting only sex. Go to her profile she was in a skimpy tank top with boobs to her navel.. Like come on. All her pic's were of her no bra, and skimpy shirts and shorts abotu 60 pounds over weight. Am I going to bash her nah... I just figure what ever floats the user's boat go for it.

I also don't believe a guy in a shirtless picture is just looking for a fling. Any way not all fo them

Mmy shirtless head-shot was a symbolic nudity. I wasn't trying to show off my body or anything, I just wanted to sort of give a visual representation of my own honesty. As for guys looking for one night stands while their profile said long-term, well for one: Most guys want sex bad enough to say and/or do anything to get some of it, and for two: most guys are probably looking for one thing, but will take whatever they can get in addition. Some guys just want to hit it and quit it, (OK, most) some are ready to settle down. Some just think they are.

I'd say, that for all the guys who don't read romance novels, they do pay attention to the book covers. When you have book covers with half naked men, and women buy them, then the guys might think gals like that.

Now, give me a half naked kilted Highlander and you may have me there.... drool

I've never understood this, either. Most of us own at least one shirt.

I also have questions about the "guy holding up a fish" pics, and the "this is my car but I'm not in the picture" pics.

One thing I know for a FACT....

On this very site......

When I do post up a skin pic....I get loads of positive e-mails. I add new pix pretty frequently and I post everything from formal to all but naked casual. The concept that a shirtless man is after a fling is as retarded as....she is in a skirt for easier access.

When we as Americans begin dictating what decorum is morally tasteful.....then we will be orthodox moslems.

I seriously doubt any of you ladies would apprecieate someone else deciding that a friggen burkah is proper attire for you.

Anyone who does not like my nipples are free to pass right on by to the ones futily trying to hide their pasty rolls, woolly lumps and tattoos of their ex wife across their heart. I am here for my good friends.
