You know, along with the millions of other americans in the same boat. And this is my problem how? Excuse me? You aren't the only person in this country that pays taxes. And I do not think I was addressing you, so buzz off! so explain to me why i should pay more taxes so you can have healthcare. I do not have to explain anything, I suggest if you do not like it then stop paying. Or buck it up. Not taking sides in this particular arguement.. but a question if you would so endulge me: To how much of another's prosperity are you entitled so that you might enjoy a comfortable life? As sentient beings we all are entitled to help each other and do have a responsibility to do so...morally. Boo waa to those of you who think you are more special and deserving because your job offers insurance... people die because they can not get care. That makes it a human issue... grow a heart!! |

I'm sorry...but with all the taxes I am forced to pay on the limited income I have( gas tax, sales tax, etc etc ad nauseum ), I just can't seem to " grow a heart " and be willing to hand over even MORE of the money I work my *** off to earn to give a few million people a handout. Nobody handed me ANYTHING when I was damn near homeless because of hospital bills. I had to WORK my way out of debt. The last couple of generations have been bad enough about thinking they are entitled to something without having worked for it..things are only going to get worse. |

Bottom line..I'd rather have my money help people than line the pockets of crooks in the insurance industry, big pharma...and well the doctors can live just fine on alittle less money. All people deserve to get medical care...that is just a fact, wether we like it or not... and yes..things are going to get worse..it won't be because of this health care reform. We all need to strap ourselves in for the ride it's gonna be a doozy. Peace brother

I can totally relate to the human element. I am not a completely heartless bastard although some may disagree.
I just don't like the fact that, not only have they been taking 27 percent of my income off the top ( including state, federal, social sec which I am probably never gonna see ) but NOW that amount is going to go even higher. Wanna do the human thing and cover everyone?? Fine. But first, they should cut out all the wasteful crap and lower my taxes a bit so it won't be such a big chunk of my income. And now...the state I live in is talking about having to raise taxes again because so many people have moved out of the state that the tax revenue has gone way down. I might as well just start handing my check over to the government. |

But I have to wonder how many of those platitudes you are gonna be wanting to type out when you are giving 50% of your income ( and NOT by choice ) to those " less fortunate ". Oh. And the proper phrasing of that line would have been..." The future is only what the government makes it. " You and I have absolutely nothing to do with it. Tonight,the goverment did something good for the American people. Not just another unneccessary war or money for the citizens of Israel or Iraq or AfghanistanSomething for OUR citizens
