People DO judge based on looks always have.....
I think the only time this really changes is when........ ready or not? It is on the internet! people have a lot more time to get to know someone on the internet before they ever actually meet them so they are ALREADY attracted to the mental aspect of the person and whatever photo they may have placed(which is not always an accurate portrayal) then they meet and they do end up liking each other based on common interest and previous emails/phone calls they had ALREADY developed that connection...But you cannot apply this standard to the normal dating or bar dating in my opinion. The initial FIRST meeting at a bar is eye contract and a quick glance LOOKS is the FIRST thing ALL guys are going to notice. Yes the guy might have different aspects of what they find attractive but if they are with their buddies? guess what? they are not going to go talk to the heavier girl(even if they find her attractive) because of what jesting that would go a long with it...but their is ways around that to but that is on the girl to figure out...but one thing is BE POSITIVE if you are negative then you are no fun to be around, and why would you want to be around someone who isn't any fun? also, Just as someone said above what type of guys do you go for? If you like the jock type guys....probably not going to happen. They are looking to do things athletic with a gf and if you don't look like you are athletic they will pass you by. |

Yeah...and why is it you only speak of "decent" men. What about the playas, the slimballs, the guys that don't shower, the one's who take advantage of people? What about those guys? Get on to them for not liking the plus sized woman too.

I know i am working on it, lost 42 lbs, got a tat, and go tanning twice a week and hit the gym every chance i get. You want oppurtunity, go get it, it wont be knocking on your door while you eat another bowl of ice cream. Well..here's a couple of thoughts for you. While I can appreciate the fact that you have certain " preferences " in what you find attractive in the opposite sex...berating them with phrases like " back away from the buffet " aren't really going to help you make a good impression. Another thing you should think about...you say that you go " tanning " twice a week. Ever heard of Melanoma?? Check into it. Those trips to the tanning joint won't seem quite as " attractive " then. Versa tan is sunless my friend, so I wont be worrying with the melanoma. As far as impressions go, I dont really worry to much about that with a complete stranger that I have no intentions on meeting. She asked a question looking for input, I provided what I think, nothing more, nothing less. And according to the person posting this thread, what I find attractive is apparently what most men find attractive. Tough love is sometimes the best medicine for whiners wondering why no one wants them. |
