i get about one attempt a week and call them on it as soon as i can spot it. It is usually pretty easy.

I have had the same problem six different scammers. Thank God I did not give them money

I have known women that did, and it breaks my heart for them.

Please ladies, if they can't even type in good english they are not who they say they are, ask them to call you or you call them. Then they will have to give you an overseas number and some will be brave and call and you can barely understand them.

Believe me I have heard it all.

Yep, most of the time when I haven't got the time to make my own. I also have a Photobucket account where I save my image, AND I have a thread on this site called "The tag and blinkie shop" I have posted a number of tags for members to use, have a look in "Coffee houses bars and chit chat".

I got hit by a Candy Gram....

I was tried to be badly scammed (except I knew what was going on and shut him down) when I first joined here. Scared me enough that I didn't come back for months! Glad I did though, you all are the greatest! We all, male and female need to remember that we are on a WWW site and there are creeps out there!

Sorry you got scammed. I hope you didn't lose too much. But, hopefully it has taught what to look for so it doesn't happen again.

Also, if you search the web I'm sure you can find some blacklists you can report him to.

Well, that works both ways. I have had "women" who claimed many things. But, when the truth finally came out, they were different people living on another continent! Of course, the subject of a family crisis arose......and they needed money, etc. One way to spot a con artist is if the feedback you get from them in their messages has no relation to their stated profile, [their profile says they live in Arizona, but they actually live in Russia!]. Here is a clue that often reveals that the person has at least the same factual background as their profile. Generally, only "real people" talk about their children and families in their profile. Con artists do not speak of divorces and children. They do not because it detracts from their marketable appeal. What it comes down to is this: If someone seems to good to be true and they come on hard and heavy....RUN THE OTHER WAY!
