Let me phrase it a little differently -- I have yet to run across anybody who I'd rather be with than be alone. Don't get me wrong, I don't think being alone is the best-case scenario possible, but it's better than any of the alternatives I've run into so far.

I think more and more lately - being alone is a great / most of the time /... I can do everything to get crazy not only ppl around me, but even my self .... and no questions why or WTF ...

Being alone is not bad at all. You just have to have someone on the side for sex. Other than that, it's great!

OP: yes, I do believe some people are meant to be alone - because they choose (or mean) to be alone. Perhaps you should say "by themselves"... does not really mean they are alone... what's with the monkey pic anyway??

i wanted soooo badly to be just, "Mr. Midnight", roll around on my harley, having coffee with y'all from town to town, making friends........... then i fell, and fell very hard, and now it's all i can think about.....i don't regret it, but i'm trying not to grasp either, trying to let it take it's natural course.....it's not an easy balance.....i'm maintaining day to day, and it'll be a lot easier when i meet her i think............to see emotions realtime. i value that...

Mirror, we are all meant to be alone. We all stand alone in this world. It is how we come into it and how we leave it. Now, if you are saying that a person has a predestiny to live life alone, I would not agree with that. We all have matches in this world. We may have a difficult time finding them but they are there. I respectfully disagree with you on this (coming in alone and leaving alone). We come into this world with Mom right there and any assistance she needs to bring you here. When we die, unless we fall out of a plane over the Alps or are fortunate enough to go in our sleep at home, we have friends, family, medical people around...usually.

My sister and I argue this alot. She believes that yes, there are some who are meant to be alone. They're put here to be mothers or fathers to many, just none of their own. Lovers to several, but not one who is truelly significant. And friend to the rest who happen to pass through her life. Personally, I'm kind of on the fence. Three marriages, four serious relationships total and I'm wondering if most of us don't go through a phase where ARE meant to be alone. Perhaps it's to give us time to work on ourselves and our flaws. Figure out why our relationships fail. How many times have we caught ourselves going from relationship to relationship just to keep from having to listen to our own thoughts? To keep from spending time with ourselves?
