It seems to be that these points of personal character, are almost lost to society. Are these virtues needed as much now as in the past? I think we ALWAYS need these things. These are rocks on which the foundation of humanity is laid.

These days everyone expects manners to come their way, they want respect and fairness but so few give what they expect from others. You gotta start by your own actions and hopefully people will follow.

Starts with your self respect to me.

So far many speak of "manners", but none of INTEGRITY.

Wonder why?

(sorry for my misspelling)

because there is no such thing as "INTEGRITY" that we are aware of

I have manners, when i feel they are appropriate, but really I was very sheltered and did not learn the nicey nice things and often prefer to offend people, however i do have personal integrity.

it has become in immediate society, along with an immediate media. no patience even with mail.......i remember waiting a month for mail, and waiting by the phone to call....people have lost patience, and the attention span is nil at best, and manners are gone with the way of proper english in spelling, and lost in a world of ringtones, games, and fake fingernails.....

it will get worse................i guarantee it.

unfortunately, nobody wants to have the strength of integrity, for the work it takes, and the laziness abound. i choose to because i feel that i must be a good example for others, and show steadfast thinking as well as the tenacity to get things done.

Being from the "old school" I like to think I have both manners and integrity

I think everyone was taught manners and have some personal intergrity......what I don't see a lot of these days is common courtesy or compasion for others
