integrity is even rarer than manners

i have seen it here many times

those that say things about posters then go right back and post the same type of comments that they ridiculed the other poster about

yes integrity is very very rare

it is even worse when the post being ridiculed is interpreted wrong to begin with

just like genuine charity, when anonymous.

technology has desensitized society when it comes to manners and personal integrity. The greatest day in the history of mankind will be the day when ALL technology crashes and humans will have to rely on each other in order to rebuild. be seeing you

If I could find a good looking guy with integrity, I'd marry him...spock even if his manners were not so great.

its awesome because you can give time 'linear motion' but age-groups stay the same. thus, at one point i will be posting stuff about 'the lost art or table manners' and 'be a man and hold the door open.'

it doesnt matter, the older generation of people will always look down on the younger generation. being replaced isnt any fun, but it will happen to us all one day smokin

note - i do not mean to call anyone 'old' or 'replaceable'

I think everyone was taught manners and have some personal intergrity......what I don't see a lot of these days is common courtesy or compasion for others

VERY true.

I may not always have the best manners in the world, but I don't try to offend people either. I have a strong integrity and hold onto my beliefs even if others don't agree with me. ohwell I try to treat others like I would want to be treated. I'm not perfect and can't say that I have always done this or will always do this. I tend to give respect to others for being fellow human beings. the level of that respect can be raised or lowered from there

It is a shame when folks take respect as weakness; or compliance.

On the surface,

I come across as an irreverent @ss.

Those who do know me .....know that being a man of my word is an absolute for me.

Being respectful/disrespectful has it's time and place but, my personal integrity is not a trait that I will jeapardize.

I think I have good manners and I tried to raise my daughters to have the same, but my younger daughter has better manners than her older sister. Since my older daughter moved in with her father, her manners have all but disappeared.frustrated

I work hard on my integrity because I know it slips every so often.ohwell

Good for both. My parents would have clobbered me if I was disrespectful and lied about things. And not just a paddling, but an Arse-Whooping!!! No playing around with that. It's always Mr. Mrs. so-n-so. Sir, Ma'am, please and thank you.

Winks at those who open doors. Thank you, and I'll get the next one for you. :-P Most guys play along well, and its a small joke then. :-)

Definition of Integrity from Merriam-Websters online:

1 : firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : incorruptibility

-For the most part, yes! I have different codes though. I have my personal codes, I have professional codes and I have mommy codes. At times those conflict... so its a balance to maintain them.

3 : the quality or state of being complete or undivided : completeness

-Still working on this... thinking about taking up meditation.

Manners... for the most part I have them. Try to use them.
Sidenote: It surprises me when people in public are surprised when my 6 yo son says please and thank you and opens doors for people. ohwell He has been saying please and thank you since he was 2 yo!

I will take a man with integrity. I am not concerned much with looks because the right man with integrity, would be incredibly good looking to me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I agree, he would be a keeper!
