Man, they are dropping like flies... Billy Mays of TV advertising fame is now dead at 50. That makes at least five celebrities to die in a week! What the HECK! What next? A plane crash takes out KISS? Damn... Ain't life funny or what?

I'm kinda tired of hearing about all the stars that pass away. There a lot of people who die everyday who have contributed far more to society than the stars have. Yet we put the stars up on some pedistal and make their lives seem more important than others. One in particular irks me a singer turned pedofile. Yet all you see on TV and hear on the radio is about him. Just wrong IMO! Okay first of all, no one is putting more importance on Billy Mays or anyone else who passed away this week. It's just news and it's normal to say, hey did you hear....? And please don't start with the MJ slams or this thread will go down the tube like the others did. Do you not watch the news? I dont see news of a doctor who has saved lives and made other lives better by their work when they pass away. The media makes such a big deal about a star when they pass away. Sorry for posting MY OPINION I guess I should just keep them to myself from now on. |

Unfortunately I think Patrick Swayze will be next. I think so as well, he's not looking so good... Sadly for him at least he'll be after June... thats what i already said i felt he would be next possible july |

I just didn't want you to think everyone put emphasis on one life over another. I do not. I don't think many here do. And yes, when someone dies that has made a contribution to the world of medicine, that is always mentioned. I certainly can't speak as to what makes one famous person more famous than another in the eyes of the media. The only thing that is extremely troubling to me is the lack of compassion and the jokes at the death of someone..anyone. (not saying you) Since when did that become okay? What happened to our compassion as a society? |
