I find it interesting that with the OP post, of all the good things mentioned, most zoomed in on the one bad thing, that is hanging up on someone. Or, it was pointed out that "that guy" (who does these things) gets his heart broken.

I find it interesting that with the OP post, of all the good things mentioned, most zoomed in on the one bad thing, that is hanging up on someone. Or, it was pointed out that "that guy" (who does these things) gets his heart broken. Well, for me, that was the reality of it -- no point pretending otherwise. When you go so far out of your way to be decent and helpful and supportive and understanding to someone, and they don't appreciate it, and in fact they end up using it against you, it's the sort of thing that tends to stick with you for a long time afterwards.... |

I had a guy like that once and I broke his heart. Yes I deeply regret that. It set me up for some "what goes around comes around," served me right too. The thing is..that same man is back in my life recently and as amazing as ever. I know now what a treasure he is/was and I won't do anything to screw it up. I was young and had no idea what I had. Would it be safe to say that the more you have experienced in life/relationships the more likely you are to know what you have?

While that kind of devotion sounds good I would wonder how long I would feel like someone that submissive would wear. Hardly feel like they would be and equal or honest partner. I feel like I am a pretty good catch but I don't walk on water and a partner would have the right/obligation to refuse if I were being a pain.
