I checked the three roads....no Betty.....other than that...can't check all the mesquite and cactus patches...just not feasible...

But, I am not completely sad...I was blessed to have her love me. I gotta smile at that...I was sooo lucky the day her starving @ss found me....I gave her my steak finger lunch with some peanut butter crackers to lure her into my arms to bring her home...we had three great years...loved that dog. She was the sweetest.


Quite...coy is very possible...though I have had dogs out here for most of my life...the coys only want them for sex....

More than likely rattle snake or cactus or getting shot or wild dogs....or getting hit farther down the road than I drove....

cactus kills animals? sorry i dont know we dont have them here never heard of that...what is mesquite? other than something you bbq with?

The big needles are about 3 inches long...the red hair needles only suck... but animals can and do get blinded or throat poked by the long ones if they ain't careful. Believe me...if someone runs into a cactus...life changes.

Mesquite is a kind of tree that is slow growing with thorns up to three or four inches...but the smaller green ones actually carry the venom...and yes, it is the preferred wood out here for grilling.

interesting.. maybe one day ill see one and understand a bit more all ive seen is the houseplants or pictures that nothing like the real thing.... krupa have you ever drawn a picture of your dogs?

i know because my Rat Terrier has gone missing twice and returned home both times.the first time she was gone for 2 weeks and i didn't know it til my mom called me and told me she had been found.she ended up 2 miles from where i was living and luckily showed up at one of my mom's friends house.the lady seen her tag and seen my name so she called.

the 2nd time she was missing for 3 days.she returned home with a gunshot wound in her side the size of a baseball!.i actually almost passed out because you could see all of her internal organs and the vet told me "somebody was watching over her cause she should not have survived as long as she did.she should have bled to death"but she's 9 years old now and really hasn't slowed down very much.she can still jump 3+ ft high without a running start

i've been at my brothers the past 2 weeks and i'm ready to get back home and see her.my uncle stays there with her overnight and my mom stops by and brings her treats and stuff,so i know she's in good hands til i can get home.

Got up early this morning...no Betty....and Chatka refused to go out side...drove around looking again...no Betty...stopped back by the house to try to get Chatka outside...and a Black head popped up out of the cactus patch across the road...

BETTY!!!!!!!!! she came belly crawling out....looking like absolute hell...covered with cactus needles...and coated with something similar to tree sap but smells like horse pee and apparently she waded in the neighbors horse pond....looks like she got snake bit in the side of her face ....but she is home and safe....phew.....oh man.....I am soooooo relieved! Thank you everyone for all your positive energies......gonna be a real job to get her cleaned up when I get home....glad I already gave her the rattlesnake vaccine!
