Cool But what of this scripture?
Ecclesiastes 1:9: That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun. |

he didn't say when it will happen. the Bible gives signs to look for but not dates.
Matthew 24:34 is taken out of context. Question: "What did Jesus mean when He said, "this generation will not pass"?" Answer: This quote of Jesus in regards to the end times is found in Matthew 24:34, Mark 13:30, and Luke 21:32. Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place." The key to understanding what Jesus means is understanding the context; that is, understanding the verses that are surrounding verse 34, but especially the verses prior to verse 34. In Matthew 24:4-31, Jesus is speaking of events that have not yet happened. The generation of people living when those events occur is the generation that Jesus speaks of "not passing" until He returns. Jesus had already told those living during His first time on earth that the kingdom had been taken from them (Matthew 21:43). Therefore, it is imperative that Matthew 24-25 be seen as speaking of a future time and that the word generation is referring to the people alive when the events of Matthew 24-25 are occurring. Another possibility is that Jesus was giving a prophecy with a "double fulfillment." Some of what He was predicting was going to occur in that generation. Some of what Jesus prophesied fits with what occurred when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem in A.D. 70. Other aspects of Jesus' prophecy, however, did not occur in A.D.70; for example, Matthew 24:29-31. However, this view does not work with Jesus' statement that "all these things" will take place in "this generation." Therefore, it is best to understand "this generation" as referring to the generation in which the end-times events occur. Essentially, Jesus is saying that the end times will happen quickly. This concept is echoed in many other Scriptures (Matthew 24:22; Mark 13:20; Revelation 3:11; 22:7,12,20). this is actually a good site for answers are you disputing the book of Revelations? there are signs that the Bible talk about, but not th exact date. No one knows that |

But in Luke doesn't Jesus say the Kingdom is within you? yes...it does say that...but the translations can be different. the end of times refers to this world, not what is in you. i assume this is what you are talking about rich...Luke 17 (KJV) And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. the kingdom of God is within you. (KJV) the kingdom of God is in the midst of you. (RSV) For the Kingdom of God is among you. (NLT) For behold the kingdom of God is among you. (FNT) this might help some http://www.voiceofjesus.org/kingdom_not_within.html |

the way I understand the situation is...yes He died for us and we can be forgiven. but that doesn't mean we can just do it over and over and just say sorry as well. just like I have taught my son....sorry is a word, it's the actions behind it that matter. it's what is in the heart and mind. but to be forgiven...we have to repent and ask for forgiveness. we all make mistakes in life. God knows we are human. but just saying i'm sorry isn't enough IMO...you have to learn from your mistakes as well

Scripture says that no one knows the day nor the hour, not even the Son(Jesus) until the Father reveils it to Him.
Personally, I believe we are in the end times, however long that takes, i have no clue, but I do know, we all need to be prepared with our Souls and relationship with Christ and be ready at any given moment! |
