Don't come here. Seriously, this town is going to "hell in a hand basket." Everything is closing down, layoffs keep coming one after another, and the Town Council won't let anything new come in. I really don't know how people are surviving here. It's pretty depressing!

According to an article I found on the web, Houston TX is one of the best cities for nurses. It has a higher than average salary average, with a lower cost of living. Of course, that might not be true now, because I just checked the date and it was from winter 2007.

Washington State is good - I live in a small town, maybe 7000 population, mostly mom and pop shops. The hospital is small, about 26 beds but they have postings for hiring nurses right now too. I have worked there for 6 years now, some really nice people, a few idiots, but get that anywhere.
The town is about 3 hours from Seattle. Climate is mild, we do get wind and rain, some snow but usually is gone fast and not deep. Some years none, this year had the most, but a inch or so and gone in a day or two. Nothing major. Surrounded by water on 3 sides. Some heat in the summer, but usually fairly mild summers too. |

I would like to suggest that you join the traveling nurses company. Then you could travel wherever for work and get to see where you may want to settle down at. I could find the info for you if it sounds interesting; my cousin is doing it now and is in Washington for the next month.

do u guys get a lot of snow or rain in oregon I live in Michigan and would really like to get away from that. we always get rain. but where i live (salem) we hardly ever get snow. so thats not much of a worry. we had snow in dec which that harldy ever happens. now if you move to eastern oregon like in bend, klamath falls, in that area, its a higher climit so they always gets snow |

there are tons of jobs posting for texas but it is so damn hot there in the summer. True? Fun things to do? Best place in texas to live? Come to Arizona. To hot in the Valley of the Sun...(aka Phoeni)..Look at Flagstaff or Prescott area. To cold in Flagstaff/Prescott area. Look towards Kingman. When it is hot in the summer ... mountains are right here to cool off in or to live in. Close enough to Vegas for weekend get aways. And we have houses/condos that are available at reasonable prices. |
