I've also noticed that some think a well-placed LOL will cover up a multitude of sins...Like: "She told me I was a creep LOL!" I'm sorry...but if someone's creepy...no amount of LOLing can cover THAT up!

Grrr! This is my internet pet peeve button. I loathe "lol" and every such derivative. I do confess to dropping close to 4 OMGs in my life now, for shame! Even vehemently picketed against emoticons, until they turned me loose w/ the kewl ones in here. We can only hope I eventually regulate, the plain is goin' down ...

I do use, lol a great deal, in a manner of cordiality, in a conversation...it's just a habit. (this requires something be remotely funny) if something is really funny...then i use emotes... Or if it's really good...i just love this lil guy....
