TBI at 21, coma 3 months, had to relearn everything again. Not sure what TBI is ... but I'm sure your ordeal was a long hard road, not to mention what you've lost in memories. My heart goes out to you and your overcoming the odds. ![]() Also, if you weren't so far away, and maybe a little older, I'd hit on you... you sexy hunk of male flesh.... just flirting. ![]() ![]() |

I think the biggest thing that has effected me in my entire life is the fact that all the "father" figures in my life were nothing more then kids acting like fathers. My mom did a much better job raising me then any man. Because of her i have more respect for Tougher women, single mothers and i dont stand for rapists, child molesters or any other monsters. I spent 5 1/2 years in group homes and shelters and was told in my freshmen year i would never graduate let alone make something of myself, but here i sit 24 years old graduate of high school and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I think i did good and came out on top after all the years...What do ya'll think? |

My father, his brother, and several random strangers were perves to me during childhood and through adulthood. That scar took a long time to heal.
Most people don't realize they need to grieve for however long it takes to get over their pain... soberly... and for every drug or drink they take to cover it up, they have that much longer to grieve if they ever clean up their act. |

I think i did good and came out on top after all the years...What do ya'll think? Sounds like some of your mother's strength rubbed off on you. I know I raised my son without his father having much to do with him, so I can understand where you're coming from. The group homes had to be tough and I congratulate you for sticking to it and coming out ahead of the game. Hoo Ya! Is that how they say it? Kudos my good man... Well done. |

Same old same old for me: physical abuse, being burned as a kid and then women putting cigarettes butts out on me cause I didn't feel it anymore, emotional ridicule- you're fat not good enough ugly no one likes you, etc. Then school starts and its the same old same old; then I repeat the pattern with women who are abused and abusive. Same old Same old. Alcoholic father, BiPolar mother. Yada Yada. Keep going on... dude. ![]() |

My parents divorced and it came down to foster homes or my 80 year old grandmother raising myself and my sister. Since neither of my parents were an option, Gram stepped up to the plate at the age of 80. I thank God every day for everything she did for us. By the way she lived to be 100

When you're told 95% of your life that your not good enough its hard to believe someone when they tell you are.

When you're told 95% of your life that your not good enough its hard to believe someone when they tell you are. Agreed! Which is why you shouldn't rely on other people to know that you're worth something. You should just tell yourself all the time that you are, and eventually you will believe it. ![]() |

Watching friends die and get hurt on the other side of the world for no aparent reason. It taught me not to sweat the small stuff.

Watching friends die and get hurt on the other side of the world for no aparent reason. It taught me not to sweat the small stuff. I was still in grade school when the troops were brought home from 'Nam. But I have many friends that served over there. Please tell your friends that did come back that a Desert Storm vet gives them a hearty "Welcome Home, Brother". |
