my 4 year old had her hand slammed in a car door tonight by her older sister. the whole thing was an accident, and my 8 year old feels horrible for it and has been beating herself up over it.
my lil princess only cried for about 15 minutes.. then she stoped when i brought her blanket from my house to my moms where it happened.. the whole time we were in the emergency room she didnt shed one tear..
she ended up having 2 fractured bones in her hand.. and now has a splint and sling for the next 4 to 6 weeks.. the doctor said that were it anyone of us in the room who had the broken hand we would have been in unbearable pain while he was having her bend her fingers and twist her wrist to see how extensive the damage was.. but she was so brave, she winced a couple times when he poked and prodded, but refused to shed a single tear..

Aww, the poor babies! Kids are so resilient, thankfully! My son broke his funnybone at not much older, did pretty much the same thing. The hard thing's gonna be trying to keep her from using it too much flowerforyou

poor little girl.

i always gave out 'sick toys' for my kids when they were really ill.

i happen to have an extra unopened polly pocket toy and, if you think she's old enough to play with them, i can send it out to her in the mail.

you can tell her it came all the way from canada.

Damnit girl, make me cry why don't ya? That was sooooo sweet!

Poor little girl. I remember my own child at about 5 years old I think, first time with the summer teenage babysitter. They walked down to get the mail and the road had just been paved. My kiddo stepped out on the asphault in barefeet and burned the bottoms of her feet bad! All the way to the hospital the poor kid was sucking in her breath it hurt so bad and all during the picking of the gravel out of her little sensitive feet at the hospital. If that had been me, I would have passed out! Kids can be so tough and brave, it amazes me.
I hope your daughter heals fast and makes her sister be at her beck and call for drinks and snacks..laugh Kidding! Hugs to you and both girls. This will be a story they tell years from now.

Ohhh..Izzie..4 yrs. old. Poor baby.flowerforyou

When my child was 10, they slammed the car door on their own finger. Blood was pouring out everywhere. We went to the ER. The finger was broken.

It's not as bad as what your baby went through but I remember how awful I felt inside.

You have such a brave little one there. Lots of hugs to her.flowerforyou

pouring blood.. that happened to my 8 yr old.. i much prefer the broken bones in the hand to the pouring blood..
