Topic: who hates Xmas ??

My son is 20 months old, and I have decided to tell him the truth about christmas and not lie to him about a santa. I want my son to trust me, and starting off with a lie I don't think will help.

I want him to know that mommy gave him these things, not some weird imaginary man.

We will not celebrate "x-mas". We will celebrate life, love and family.

we need to go target shooting dude, I got about a 1000 rounds for all my guns, could spare a couple hundred, we can load em all up and have a "mad minute" drinker

Better yet, lets shoot down that jolly old fat dude in the red suit flying overhead that ruined Christmas!

couldn't be better, hopefully will be in MD for Christmas, think i'm just gonna lock the place up and pay the lectric and lot rent and just move, maybe get someone to keep an eye on the place.

Almost tempted to give it to a needy family, 'cept I don't know where to start on that one.

Contact one of your local charities. Even if that particular charity doesn't deal with that kind of thing, there's a good chance that they could put you in touch with a charity that does.

the stress,. over indulgence ,..the traffic,.the crowds,..

teaches the youngest ones how to want " more " stuff,..they don`t need

why can`t we just do winter without Xmas ???

well sure if you consider X-mas as it is meant to be 'CHRISTMAS' ..

it's not about commercialism .. it's about the birth of Jesus Christ .. and HE revolutionized the world .. so how could you hate that?

What a wonderful idea Sharpshooter! That could surely make someone's Christmas a happier one. Look under charities in your phone book, they network & someone will be able to put you in contact with a needy family. Make sure you are released of all responsabilities related to the home, property, taxes ect.

Or just pay someone's electric/gas bill, etc...

I work for a utility company and the customer svc people ALWAYS know who's really working to make ends meet and who's a monthly scammer...
just go give a gift of energy someplace. A great thing!

I really just hate the god-awful music..

I have to agree with you there.

What, pray tell, makes it so "god-awful"? Is it the joyous spirit of the music? Is it the positive messages? Is it the happiness it conveys? Perhaps it's the peace and tranquility of the imagery?

Wow, I guess we should rather listen to something decent, like rap.

Yes, I hate "Xmas". However, I somewhat enjoy Christmas.

AMEN!

I always look forward to the holidays each year. My birthday is only a few days away from Christmas so for me that was my BIG time of year.

I also look forward to the radio stations that play only Christmas music all the time. I know that if I want to sing along all I have to do is click on that station.

It's called Christmas and I love it, because it's the day I celebrate my Savior's birth. It's not about receiving it's about giving.
Christmas should be about the message of Christ Jesus birth. The modern day merchants have turned it into a money making deal.

I think most enjoy giving & receiving gift, when able and being around love ones. When not able to it can be depressing.

Still I hope we can all remember the true message of Christmas.

Peace

Enjoying Christmas does not always mean spending money. We look forward to driving thru neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights...putting up our tree while sipping hot cocoa...donating to Urban Ministries...and the extra hugs...the excitement in the children's eyes...Midnight Mass...shoveling snow...snow angels (boy I miss the snow).

We have had extravagant Christmas's and frugal ones. The best one's, the one's they seem to remember the most....are the frugal ones! Go figure!
