Sure it is cliqueish.....there will always be cliques within any social setting.

For me, cliques have thier uses. It let's you know who is open and receptive to others. It let's you know who is snobbish and condescending to those not in the inner circle.

I use that information to establish friendships with the cool ones and avoid wasting my time with the pious ones.

That maybe Mingle has become a lil to "cliquish?" lol if that's even a wordlaugh

No not really but of course if you often post in certain forums like with me its "Science and Philosophy" then people start to know you from there. Thats probably not the same thing as a "clique" but you just get associated with having certain viewpoints. Its meant an increased volume of private messages, thats for sure.

So then, are you inferring that your own friends or people you hang around with are not a clique?
laugh no I don't not feel like I am part of a cliqueflowerforyou

The OLD cliques at least had a little class -- when they excluded you, you FELT excluded. The new ones are just pathetic. You wouldn't WANT to be a part of those groups....

to be perfectly honest, i don't notice any cliques. i post where there's interest, i'm social on occasion, and then i log off. i don't follow who ignores this person or who befriends that person.

i do, however, recognize that there are people on this site, and other sites, who've known each other for quite some time and have built up a rapport that allows them to be more familiar, accepting and friendly amongst themselves.

i was a newbie once; i never felt excluded, ignored, or insulted.

however, i never began posting with the assumption that i was to be immediately liked, accepted or even tolerated. like anywhere else, one needs to exhibit some decorum when in a social setting, especially when they are a newcomer.

Well the main reason I ask this is because I have seen people here beat up on some newbies who may not "know" how things work here laugh But the way I see it is most times we are just protecting our site from becoming trashylaugh drinker There's true friends here and most people are really cared for and welcomed. And to be honest, when I see some of the posts some people put up... they kinda deserve to be beat up on just a lil but

Re: the beating up of newbies -- There was recently a shameful exhibition of behavior by some members here, who ganged up on a new person whom they apparently believed was the recipient of too much attention (whatever that means) -- I didn't see THAT as a "clique" situation so much -- more like a sort of loose affiliation of different members, some of whom wouldn't qualify as cliquish in the least, uniting for the sole purpose of attacking someone they perhaps were jealous of, or felt threatened by -- a sad display, but I learned a lot by watching the debacle....
So shameful, to the point that when you are joking and mention newbie to someone they think you are picking on them, When in fact you are just trying to "include" them..Makes me not want to participate anymore of fear of hurting ones feelings by trying to include them..cause they seen the bashing going on here...

so my answer is yes jill too much of it... then the other type ill call them.. The Dominants... who think they are always right, never bend, potray themselves to be perfects and seem to think they own mingle 2laugh

... Oh you mean like the "bedhumper" or the "fartsniffer" or the "level 3 cougar hunter". Or all the other countless characters that seek bizarre very abnormal socio psychotic behavior. Hey if you want to f*ck a chicken, have somone sh!t in your mouth, or be the worlds biggest lesbian- have at it. But don't expect not to have a giant target painted on your forehead because we don't readily accept your behavior as normal as you do.
laugh laugh i dont think that is what she was talking about.... but hey you forgot the diaper man that wanted to change diapers <messed ones> for someone especially someone of underaged

i see newbies, thinking that someone is bashing or attacking them all the time on here .. when the newbie says something about it they mention well ive been reading all this stuff... etc meanings if you include them or treat them like you know them a lot of times they take it wrong... and think they are getting bashed because they had been reading other threads and know that this mistreatment goes on...

Honestly I have never been one to think someone gets bashed or attacked for just plain being newlaugh laugh It's what they said in their post that causes a response of any kind...

If people cant handle a little bit of debate or turbulence on an electronic internet relay chat forum setting, than how do they function in their day to day lives exactly? happy
