So in your entire 7 days, you've noticed how some of us know each other and act like it? It takes months to get to know people in these forums.... |

Well the main reason I ask this is because I have seen people here beat up on some newbies who may not "know" how things work here But the way I see it is most times we are just protecting our site from becoming trashy There's true friends here and most people are really cared for and welcomed. And to be honest, when I see some of the posts some people put up... they kinda deserve to be beat up on just a lil but |

Some of these crackpots are so far out there you wonder if they are real. They paint the target on their own head. They are the sexual deviant. They are the nutcases that seriously need medical help. Stupid is as stupid does.

So in your entire 7 days, you've noticed how some of us know each other and act like it? It takes months to get to know people in these forums.... This thread was started by someone other than myself who was asking a question; I offered my input. I don't believe I (or anyone else) needs to have an account for longer than 7 days to make observations or be allowed to express them. Concerning myself, it takes much less than 7 days to recognize cliquish behavior. Some of "us" infers that I included you; I named no one. Some of "us" also means you're volutarily including yourself as part of the party being discussed. If you don't feel that you're part of a clique, then I wasn't talking about you. |

So then, are you inferring that your own friends or people you hang around with are not a clique?

I march to my own band...well I did but we got into an argument and they left...so now I just march because it's fun.

So then, are you inferring that your own friends or people you hang around with are not a clique? Again, the original question posted in the thread merely asked if "you" (we) feel that Mingle has become a bit cliquish. I didn't infer anything outside of that answer. |

There was a time (early JSH) when it was a LOT worse. Now, it's basically a few small groups who like to post 32-page threads of the same 6 people making the same 6 posts 100 times each. They're boring and there's no substance and most of the dialogue sounds like third graders who have spent too many hours sniffing glue in an unventilated area. The OLD cliques at least had a little class -- when they excluded you, you FELT excluded. The new ones are just pathetic. You wouldn't WANT to be a part of those groups.... Geez...if it's sooooo bad.... |

Again, the original question posted in the thread merely asked if "you" (we) feel that Mingle has become a bit cliquish. I didn't infer anything outside of that answer. I guess I just can't quite wrap my head around how people on this site who are friends with one another are insinuated to be a "clique", but friends of someone while they're offline are not. |

Sure it is cliqueish.....there will always be cliques within any social setting.
For me, cliques have thier uses. It let's you know who is open and receptive to others. It let's you know who is snobbish and condescending to those not in the inner circle. I use that information to establish friendships with the cool ones and avoid wasting my time with the pious ones. |
