Topic: How far would you travel just for a date? | |
---|---|
^I agree the original post stipulating that you have only been communicating for a week is asking a bit much to travel any significant distance to meet. I would have to know someone pretty well in order to consider flying anywhere to see them, or for them to see me. I don't even think I would be comfortable meeting someone local after only a week. I agree. There are safety concerns there. A week is too soon young lady! At the risk of sounding like a mom. He should come see you. Its recommended that the man come to where the woman is first and thats simply for precautionary reasons. You should not go wandering off someplace across the country to go see some guy you have been talking with online for a week. |

If you meet a person from across town for a date and the date doesn't work it's no big deal. Some guys who message me live too far away for dating so I say no to their offers. I am not big on web dating. I want to get to know the guy in real life. I've had some guys offer to travel from across the country (or further) just for a date. I totally don't get this. It's seems like too much pressure. If I decided I didn't feel any chemistry between us I would feel like I would have to stretch the date out just because he traveled so far. I would feel pressured to make the date work instead of just relaxing and being myself. Would you accept a date from a guy you only talked to for a week on the web and who lived across the country or even further away? Lets say you really didn't know him well and you didn't even know if he is right for you. The guys I am referring to I would go on a date with if they lived across town. Thoughts? That is your origional quote right there. Im asking why you are rushing it? Why only one week for a cross country visit? |

My limit is about 4 miles. Maybe 5 if it's nice out. That doesn't even cover the next little town over. lol I have already dated all the guys in my town that have good teeth. |

Every individual situation is different; it's difficult to use a blanket policy about what you would or wouldn't do. |

That is your origional quote right there. Im asking why you are rushing it? Why only one week for a cross country visit? What are you reading? I am NOT rushing it. These GUYS want to meet ME ....NOW. I said "I totally don't get this" |

4 or 5 miles? That makes a lot of jobs a LDR, lol. I'm really not putting any effort into it anymore....! I understand...it can be frustrating after enough time/attempts. |

Well I am telling you that is complete lunacy! You dont have to feel pressured to go meet some guy who is across the country after one week! Thats ridiculous. Cant you just say "I need to get to you know you a little better?" What the hell? |

I'm talking to someone from Colorado. It's very new but I have thought about how it would work if we were to meet. I have family in Colorado. I would prefer to go there and see him in his element rather than have him visit me here. My reasoning is that if he visits me here he will know where I live/work. |

MindyMindy after 5 secs of reading your profile I'm not surprised you get hits from guys a long distance away.
Your profile talks about you being able to work anywhere and that you would move if you met that "special person". Every guy considers himself that "special person" and expects you to move to his town to be with him. Whoot... |

What is long distance, btw? Is it measured in drive time/distance? I am thinking if the drive is so long you need a nap afterwards that is long distance. If you have to fly that is long distance. If you need to fill up more than once that is long distance. |

well, lets see, probably cause you are HOT you know. there, Manswers
Thx fr the compliment but I am sure there are hot girls everywhere. It's odd...no one ever called me hot until I joined a dating site. I always heard "cute" and once I heard "sexy girl" when I was wearing me bikini. "Hot" must be a dating site term. |

The distances get shorter and shorter these days though..Anywhere in the Untied States would NOT be too far to find "the one". |
