Like many folks in this state, I have a job. I work they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who do not have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their BUTT, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?.......Stuart

Unfortunatley the state doesnt wanna pay the millions it would cost to hire a company to do these urine tests, cause they'd rather spend that millions on a toilet seat....

i think that is a awesome idea....only if they are alcoholics would be hard to deny them since its legal and they are sitting on their ass and not drinking on the job

People on welfare are usually women with children.

that like where i used to work, i worked at a golf course resturant, and if the owner did a drug test i wouldnt be suprised if everyone or most got fired. for the head cook and manager of the kitchen was a alcoholic and the bartender was as well..

I am not talking about them I know there are good people out that just looking for help to get back on track and them I am so cool with helping ....

I receive assistance with Medical and food stamps I am recovering from an illness
And have to look for work in order to receive my benefits I also have to attend
Work shops to better my skills In order to continue receiving benefits

Yes the system sucks and continues to go into a down hill spiral fall,
I have however petitioned my local government parties in hopes that
In the future testing will be done and those who need time to heal can
Have that time without having to jumps through loops,

Write your City officials
Petition for change
Better yet come up with a non-profit that will step in and drug test
Sad to say we sometimes have to set the plan in pencil before
Someone will say,, Hmmmmmm that might work,,

The people receiving welfare that don't qualify for it are the minority.

they didn't

They died at a very young age.

Or relied on family,, I remember growing up and when illness struck or hard times hit the family pulled together,

My family is gone other than my children so I turned to public assistance
