So, I wonder... can sarcasm really be appreciated in writing or does it need to be spoken to have the best effect?

Sarcasm is NOT acceptable on MINGLE...there are too many people with sticks up their a$$es here... Just watch how fast this gets censored...LOL

Hey, I not saying don't do it, I'm just saying it could be taken the wrong way, and turned into something totally different then what you meant. But have at it if you'd like. I have nothing against sarcasm, written or verbal.

people are easily offended by sarcasm. many just dont seem to get it. i think its cause of the lack of facial expressions while chatting.
