How many people here think they act the same way in person as they do online? How many are completely different here than they would be in person? Just wondering, as someone was just telling me that how he is on here is just an act. I'm sure he's not the only one.

i wouldn't say that i consciously act differently online, but my writing style is definitely different than the way that i speak.
even when i write in private email, i sound less standoffish than i do in a public thread (and have been told so by people who i've met). |

I think i'm pretty much the same on here, as off line.
you might precieve me to be a bit different, cuz, you can't see my body language, or here my voice inflection, but i'm mostly the same. |

I am as goofy in real life as you see me on here. No phony persona for the online world. Actually, I feel safer being my goofy self on here than in the "real" world!!!

Well, I can understand writing differently than you speak. I guess I was just wondering if people generally think they act the same way online, or if they're acting differently on purpose. |

I am what I am...take me as that, or leave me the fug alone! It is true for her! I think it is true for myself as well, I am an accurate representation of myself online. |

Oh, I am definitly far more personable and out going in face to face real life.
Here, I have to watch my step, watch my language, and be far more reserved.....(Been suspended enough for just being myself) |

Not that I think I'm a whole lot different on here. It's probably because of the strange emails I get from weird guys . |

Everything on here is the same as in real life- how i speak, think, act- nothing fake about me- I am who I am and you can take me or leave me- its up to you- won't hurt my feelings in the least.
My friends know, love and understand me and that is all that is important. :D |

I had someone tell me "It's just a game/act" as to how they were online(here)..unfortunately, I've recently discovered.. he's more a player on here which has affected his real life possibilites of a relationship with me. So actually they aren't all that different from online/RL.
I am the same in RL or Online. I'm definitely not on here trying to portray myself as something I'm not. What would someone gain from that?? Oh, nevermind, I just answered my own question in my comment above... "popularity, able to play others, attention". blah |

For those who do make it a game on here and just put up an act, why is that?
