Topic: Depression support - part 4 | |
---|---|
I am glad you are back. I was just reading up on that big word. We were glad one of our residents made it through the night. We were worried about her. She slept for a long time. She woke up real thirsty and was hollering to get out of the bed this morning. I was glad to see her back to her old feisty self. Her blood pressure went back to normal and her pulse-ox rose back up to 96. We took her off the O2 machine. Well, actually she kept pulling it out.

We have diabetic residents who have to wear special socks. Some of them get these neat shoes made by Pedr. The socks really stretch. Hey, how are the classes going, Amber?

I had to stop taking them for now because of my health. Hoping to start again fresh soon

I hope your health gets better. I was talking to our male aide the other night and he was telling me that I could use my computer experience with my medical experience and do some computing in the medical profession. Our nursing home is real back country type and not up on the latest things in technology. I ran across the same thing in maintenance earlier in life while working at a chicken plant. Then they got into more technological advances and a pair of channel locks with a BFH (hammer) was not enough to doing maintenance with. I can remember that type of maintenance. "Well, hit it with a hammer." "I did but it still doesn't work." "Well, get a real hammer and hit it." "Where did you get that puny hammer, anyways?" Kind of like Crocodile Dundee with the knife. "Thats not a knife. Here a knife." And he pulls out this big knife.

Yeah. Those were the days. We had so many machines that just couldn't pass the hammer test. For the the line supervisors down time meant loss of bonus and for the maintenance crew down time meant we would actually have to work instead of walk around and be looked up to since we were the maintenance department with our fancy tools. So it was better for all the maintenance team to get together with all their hammers to fix a machine. "Our motto was if we can't fix it then we can fix it where it couldn't be fixed. Sure took less time to install new machines on the weekends and get over time than to actually fix a machine because the old machines got where no one would supply the old parts. After beating on a machine for a while our maintenance department was almost stress free. Except on those rare occasions where we had to do band-aid maintenance.

Ok, I don't want this thread dying so damn it I'm gonna VENT.......Boyfriend that I have taking care of for the past 18 months has hurt me again today, it's the second time he's done it since August. We were arguing because I didn't want him going back on his word (like he normally does) to help me pay for storage.......he got so worked up that he ran my truck over a curb and it messed up my back again.....still don't have any sensation in my right leg since it happened about 6 hours ago....

You need to get out of that relationship before you get seriously hurt or more...I would run from a man like that!

Love shouldn't have to hurt. I hope you get away from the pain.

Sorry to hear that. Why can't love just be simple? I don't get it. Just go with what your heart wants :)
