No!!!!! Absolutely NOT!!!

Hell no!....

This thread sounds like a version of my Mom saying...."If you love me, it shouldn't matter what I weigh or what I look like"...that is a weak cop out...

I, personally, WANT to look as good as I can for the woman I love. How weak would it be for me to say..."you love my soul.... Ya gotta love my physical form too...even when I will put no effort into looking nice for you"

If this thread is about, "I try to look better for my mate but have a hard time with it"...I can understand that.

If it is...."I am not gonna put any effort into being more appealing for my love"...I got no pity.

From what I've read here, I don't think most of the people are saying they're just sitting around, being happy about being overweight and not doing anything about it. I work all the time at it. It's not something that fixes itself quickly, though. So, I see nothing wrong with learning to be happy with yourself and the way you are at the time, but continuing to work on yourself at the same time.

Well said.....now, drop and give me 50.laugh laugh laugh laugh

Thanks for this thread, Goof. My weight has been issue for me ever since I was started on steroids for my lupus. I had been skinny my whole life except for the two years during pregnancy and recovery from pregnancy. It was very depressing for me to suddenly be "fat".

It's really nice to read that I'm not "out of the game" because of this. flowerforyou

No Miss Ruth....you got game girl. Heck, if I have game, then all of you have tons of game...my game is weak.laugh laugh laugh

Yes, Ma'am, that was my downfall, too...prednisone is a b..ad word. And all the other crap they give us for it. I'm in remission & controlling a lot of things by diet, so I've lost around 80 lbs. so far. It sucks when you're heavy because of meds, just soooo not fair. There should be a disclaimer!!!rant

Not nearly as much as you might think it does. I guess I can only speak for myself, but I appreciate a man who works hard and is responsible......but don't need someone to pay my bills. It is hard to date someone who can't afford to really go out on a date, but since I'm in close to the same predicament (I'm a single mom which means pretty much always close to broke..lol) I wouldn't mind less expensive dates and just good old fashioned getting to know each other.
I know you were just being facetious....but this does seem to be a tough spot for some people in this day and age of a lot of single parents.

Whatever floats your boat I guess. I don't find over weight people attractive. Doesn't mean I can't be friends, but to date? NO way.

Coming from a family that is basically split between people that gain weight by just looking at something, then the rest of us stuffing ourselves just to keep our weight to a normal range.
I have great empathy for people that try to loose weight keep in shape no I am not talking about doing a gym regime hours on end;p but eating sensibly, splurge once in a while and get off the sofa.
I have no problems with them. The people I have problems with are these two types here.

1. The person that can polish off a pint of ice cream and a dozen cookies in one sitting if they had to walk around the block that would be an expedition. Then go to a fast food joint order every thing super sized to top it off they then get a diet soda to my way of thinking, why bother??? Then I hear them gripe that their clothes are to tight and they hardly eat anything. This is type A.

2. The skinny person that is constantly whining about not gaining weight yet they eat nothing substantial and wonder why they are burning more than they are taking in.

I have both types in my family and it drives me nuts. I have to eat about 3500 calories a day to keep my weight where it needs to be.

So is there two sides of the coin always. The bottom line is to be happy with who and what you are and not make excuses for the short comings either embrace them or do something about it.

Kind of frusterateing when someone you otherwise find really appealing states flat out you are too big by a certain number when they have never seen your body and doesn't know what you have where.
