Ain't this site a place to meet and mingle and hopefully find that special person.

So why is there so many profiles with no pictures or pictures of everything except of themselves.

Do people have things to hide when they are hiding behind a fake picture of themselves.

I see a lot of woman profiles(that is the only ones I look at) asking that you have a picture if you want to message them saying you see me only fair I see you which I find more than fair.

For you people who don't have a pic of yourselves could you please illuminate me on what is the reason a person would join a dating site and not put a picture of themselves. I know that image is only a small part of a person and we shouldn't judge that person only on looks but attraction is important in a couple.

Do you have things to hide? like married/in a relation and not telling, afraid of people judging you?

I'm just curious on your reasons.

Yes....I rate you a 1 for asking to many questions...lol...it really could be alot of reasons...most of the time, when there isn't an actual pic of them in there profile...there ugly

There are a lot of us, that are on this site for socialization and for the friends we have already made. Some of us are no longer actively searching on this site but are just here for friends. That is one reason why some of us don't have up picks of ourselves.

Another reason is that they may have up a pic which describes there personality as their main pic, but have pics of themselves on the profile.

Another reason is that some people would prefer someone to get to know them as a person and not be judged first by looks.

Another reason is that some people create profiles and then disappear and never come back.

And I am sure that there are more reasons but there are some.

Sometimes I have pics up and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I have Grape Nuts for breakfast and sometimes I don't.

I think this is a good topic.

I know (for me) if I get a message from a woman that doesn't have a picture, I usually just delete the e-mail. I might read it if I have a minute, but I'd much rather see a face. Most people have a digital camera these days, and if you don't have one you probably know somebody that does have one. Most people are fairly computer literate these days (they were smart enough to log on here, etc...) so navigating to the folder on your computer where the digital picture lies should not be much of a problem, either.

For all others, I think you should ask for help.

By not having a picture on an Internet meeting site, you are making a negative statement about yourself. It is not a conscious negative statement, but instead, a "first impression" statement you make as people come across your profile for the first time.

They say first impressions are everything.

In my opinion, not having a picture is like making a statement that you don't really care much about yourself. To me that isn't very attractive, so I steer clear of non-picture profiles. Also, in my opinion if you don't have a picture, it tends to hinder the credibility of your intentions on really, sincerely wanting to be here for anything besides games and entertainment. So, I pass on all profiles that do not have pics.

Or, there are the profiles that might as well have no pics because the one single pic they decided to post is so blurry and distorted that you can't possibly see who the person is.

Or, instead of having a picture of themselves, they have just a picture of their cat, some flowers, a fairy, or some thing other than a picture. (and no picture of themselves at all...) I think these are the biggest cop-outs because they are making a statement that they do indeed no how to post digital pictures, but they still don't think enough about themselves to post a pic of their mug.

Don't you realize that some guys are going to like you and write to you regardless if you are a super-model, and regardless if you are super-fit or in shape, etc.??? Beauty is MUCH deeper than skin tone. But if you don't try to love yourself a little bit, I really doubt you'll succeed at finding anyone to love you, either. If you don't love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to love you? Its kind of hypocritical to a point to not love one's self, yet expect others to love you. Its asking something of others to give you something that you are not willing to give to yourself.

I have all kinds of pictures on my profile. You might even learn something about me by checking out my pics. I even have a picture of myself when I was in the 3rd grade... :-)

Because many people do not view it as simply a "dating site". Some are here just for friends. Some are here just for the stimulating conversation. Some are here just for the food. Fortunately for me, I fit all three categories.

But see, that's another reason. There are tons of people who already know me and I have met in person. Quite literally over a hundred. This doesn't included the people who know me that I haven't yet met. Those who know me, know me. Those that don't will find out over the course of time. I have nothing to prove nor hide. I'm not looking for anything.
