So Sarah continues to twist words to create fear. More distortions and quotes out of context from the McCain Palin campaign... At two rallies in Western Pennsylvania last night, Palin referenced at the top of her remarks a 2001 public radio interview with Obama that surfaced this week, in which Obama discussed the role of the courts in the civil rights movement. "There he was talking about the need for quote 'redistributive change,'" Palin said on the campus of Shippensburg University Tuesday night. “Sen. Obama said that he regretted that the Supreme Court hadn't been more radical. And he described the Court's refusal to take up the issues of redistribution of wealth as a tragedy. And he said he also regretted that the Supreme Court didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers there in the Constitution” Obama had in fact argued the opposite in the 2001 interview, saying that the civil rights movement had become too focused on making change through the judicial system, rather than from the ground up through community organizations. Referencing the interview, Palin said, "So you have to ask, is this a suggestion that's he’d want to re-write the founding document of our great nation to accomplish his goals. And what does that say about his ideas on future Supreme Court justices?" "Let me remind Barack Obama of something else. When judges don’t confiscate your property and your hard-earned -- all of your hard-earned money and then re-distribute that, he may call that a tragedy. But I call it fairness and adherence to our U.S. Constitution," Palin added later in her remarks. Obama has not advocated re-writing the Constitution. Palin has though...she wants to amend it to okay discrimination against gays and to remove a woman's right to privacy. Obama did not 'argue' the opposite... He stated in no uncertine terms that he felt that the Warren Court should have broken free of the 'constraints' placed upon us by our founding fathers... I will place here EXACTALLY what he said, not your abbreviated version. Obama ..." And to that extent as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution,"... Ever wonder why it is that Obama's Law Review papers are not available... wonder what he says in those papers vis a vis OUR Constitution? Our founding fathers crafted a brilliant protection for all americans past, present and future... (in spite of many attempts by short sighted people to interpret it in a racial context) If, at some point in our future REAL aliens where to immigrate to the country from beyond our telescopes, that same consititution would protect them and their rights... It mentions not race, creed or any other short sighted thing... IT DOES SAY WE THE PEOPLE... Not we the whites or we the blacks or even we the pur-ple pee-pl eaters... it says WE THE PEOPLE...

Rich have been getting richer and the poor have been getting poorer. Making the bloated rich pay taxes aint socialism. why, though, should the wealthy be punished for working hard and being successful? i hardly think it's fair that they should be forced to subsidize the poor. They arnt. We are just gonna roll back Bush's tax cuts so the middle class can get some relief. Bull pucky and dino poo... Fact - 10 MILLION Seniors are RETIRED with a FIXED income that is at or above the 'rich nich'... They will now see less of the money they put aside for that retirement... Fact - Small business owners that have business income from sole proprietorships, farm proprietorships, partnerships, S corporations, and the like.. these types of business are all taxed at the owners' INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX RATES( This is the way business operates). DO THE MATH... This equates to 34 MILLION business that will be subject to having their incomes (Personal and business incomes in one basket) REDISTRIBUTED... worse is that they will then have to pass this loss on to the economy by LAYING OFF workers because THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY THEM AND STILL SURVIVE. Can you see the sprial down to depression as it crashes. Want some more facts? DO THE MATH PEOPLE... None of this adds up... I got the numbers off the Obama web site and then plugged them into the information that I get from the business sector, the government and such sources... Get informed before you jump into the next four years thinking what is said is what is REAL.

Wealthy punished? Don't we already have that? Take a look at the CURRENT IRS Tax Tables. They are PROGRESSIVE Tax Tables. The more you make, the higher percentage you pay. It's been like that for a very long time but the Republicans seem to think this is some new idea for socialist "redistribution of wealth" that Obama has come up with. Hogwash! Paying a percentage is fair. I'm watching Obama tonight. I probably will too Geeeee really???!!!! You don’t say. I would have never guessed that. DUHHHH.

Philosophy is crap. Interesting statement. Sure the group of people that gathered in Philadelphia did not think that way. They thought that a government built upon the principals of equality for all and a division of power was worth pledging their lives, fortunes, and Sacred Honor was worth dying for. Or the philosophical ideal that Abraham Lincoln recalled in the Gettysburg Address and his second inaugural address was crap. Along with the philosophical ideal that we should treat each other as we want to be treated is also crap. Guess you are correct, there is a lot of crap around. But then crap does help things to grow.
